NEWS: Outage Hits Disney World Dining Reservation System Today

Uh, Disney? Are you doing okay?

One of the best parts of any Disney World trip is the food! From quick eats at snack carts to sit-down dining across the parks and hotels, there are so many options to choose from. Some of our favorite restaurants require reservations, and if you were struggling to book earlier, don’t worry — it wasn’t just you.

When we went to book dining reservations this morning, the reservation system was down across the My Disney Experience app and website. The Disney World website also said that resort bookings and Enchanting Extra Collection bookings might be affected as well.

We checked back later and were able to make reservations again with no issues. If you were experiencing issues this morning, you may want to check again to see if you can book now. The “Pardon the Inconvenience” pop-up is still on the app, but we were able to book our reservation.

We occasionally see this happen, and we recommend checking back later on both the website and the app. Sometimes one platform works better than the other, so we like to keep an eye on both.

You can also contact the Guest Experiences team (Disney’s fancy way of saying customer service), but when we are unable to book reservations on our end, it’s likely they won’t be able to either. You can call them or chat with them, and they can help answer any questions you might have. However, there will likely be longer-than-usual waits for guests with the same issue, so waiting until later might be the best approach.

What happens if the restaurant you really want reopens and you miss your spot? Often, more reservations become available as people change their plans and adjust their schedules. While you have to be diligent in checking, we can usually find reservations closer to our visit date as well. Having a few backup options could be helpful, and if you see the reservation you want open up, you’ll be able to snag it and adjust everything accordingly.
