Disney World has a TON of construction projects going on at the moment, but Magic Kingdom is home to many of them. The old Magic Kingdom? It’s long gone, people. Change is in the air!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is under construction, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is getting ready to go under a long refurbishment in August, Piston Peak will soon replace the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island, and of course, Villains Land is underway. Right now, it’s nearly impossible to see how construction is going…that is, until now!
The highly anticipated new Villains Land in Magic Kingdom remains mostly a mystery — we don’t have much information other than what Disney shared in the concept art, and we do know there will be two attractions here. Since it’s being built in a new area of the park that was previously unused, it’s nearly impossible to see what’s going on with the construction.

That’s not the case anymore, though, thanks to @bioreconstruct on X (formerly Twitter)! They were able to share what a large chunk of land looks like from a bird’s eye view! The land is west of Magic Kingdom, and you can see how Disney is clearing the land. Is this Villains Land? We certainly think so!

You can also see that Disney is working on a new routing of Floridian Way as part of its construction, too. From what we can see so far, it looks like Disney has cleared two main sections, and both of them look pretty large. We’re really looking forward to seeing how this land develops, and thanks to this new view, we’ll be able to truly see how the land builds up over the years.

If you need a little refresher, the new Villains Land will be home to the villains we “know and loathe” from fan-favorite Walt Disney Studios animated films. Disney says, “The evil ambition of all these Villains means that the possibilities are endless for the stories that can be told — and visitors to the dark and thorny land should be prepared for whatever chaos might come their way.”

The space will be home to two major attractions, dining options, and shopping offerings on an “incredibly twisted grand scale.” Preparation is underway for this new land at Magic Kingdom, and the Chairperson of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Josh D’Amaro, said during the 2024 D23 Fan Convention, “And we have Imagineers in place right now all around the world because everything we’re going to share with you is in active development. Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving. I just want to be clear about this: We are doing everything you’re going to hear tonight.”
