Sometimes Disney magic happens outside the Disney parks, and we never get tired of finding little nods to Disney around the world.
For the past few weeks, the Old Navy x Disney Road Trip has been taking place. It started in New York and just finished its tour across the country at the Santa Monica Pier in California. But this wasn’t just any event — no, it featured a FREE live performance by none other than the iconic Disneyland band, and we got to be front and center for the show!
The Santa Monica “Pier 360” Beach Festival will take place from June 28th to 29th this year, and is an all-ages (free!!) festival held right on the Santa Monica Pier.
To complete the Old Navy x Disney Road Trip, the Disneyland Band gave a surprise FREE performance during the event! They performed a medley of beloved Disney tunes, including the new Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration theme song “Celebrate Happy.”
The final Old Navy x Road Road Trip stop will be available all weekend as a pop-up event and is a fun, family-friendly experience inspired by the classic American road trip. It features:
- The recently launched Old Navy x Disney collection, available for fans to shop at a discounted price (you can also shop the collection online through July 5th if you’re not able to make it in person)
- Summer scenic photo opportunities
- Roadside refreshments
- Exciting giveaways
The Disneyland Band was joined by Mickey Mouse himself, and their performance made us feel like we were really on Main Street, U.S.A. Our cheeks hurt from smiling so much, and we’ll admit that we were tearing up at the end!
We had SO much fun at this event! The Cold Treats booth was handing out free water and small soft-serve ice creams, including DOLE Whip. There were tons of vendors handing out free samples to people, making the event extra special, but there was also food available for purchase. We saw a Hot Dog on a Stick booth, a Beer Garden for those 21+, and more.
We loved seeing all the different photo ops around the event as well! There was a big banana slide, a classic Mustang you could sit in, and some other Disney and road trip-themed photo ops.
