BREAKING! Opening Date Revealed for NEW Attraction Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The long wait is finally over! A Disney World attraction that has been closed since March 2020 is about to reopen — but there’s a catch.

Things have slowly but surely returned to Disney World since the resort closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. One attraction we weren’t sure we’d ever see again, however, was “Voyage of the Little Mermaid,” a live show that told an abridged version of The Little Mermaid at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s taken five years, but Animation Courtyard Theater is FINALLY welcoming Ariel back!

After a five-year hiatus, “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” has been transformed into a new live show — “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” that will debut on May 27th, 2025 at the Animation Courtyard Theater!

The permanent closing of “The Voyage of the Little Mermaid” and subsequent reimagining were announced back in December 2023. The new show is still inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Little Mermaid and “will feature stunning new set pieces, cutting-edge effects, and a bold new design that captures Ariel’s imagination and emotions through her unique view of the world around her,” per Disney.

The new show promises to include musical numbers such as “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” “Kiss the Girl”, and more. And there will be a mix of puppets and live actors.
