I’m Morally Conflicted About This Disney World Hotel

There are plenty of different Disney World hotels — each with its own set of pros and cons.

Art of Animation Resort

Choosing the right hotel for you can be one of the toughest parts of planning your whole vacation, which is why we’re here to keep you on the right track! And, while this one hotel, in particular, is pretty darn popular — we can’t help but feel moral conflicted about it.

Disney Vacation Planner

We’re pretty big fans of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, but that doesn’t mean it’s all sunshine and rainbows over there. In fact, there might be plenty of reasons this hotel isn’t right for you depending on who you’re traveling with and what sort of vacation you’re after.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

For folks with kids, Art of Animation seems like a no brainer — it’s certainly the most “in-your-face” Disney theming out of any of the other hotels, and it’s situated right on the Disney World Skyliner which means easy access to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

But, what if you’re traveling with kids and still want a bit of an upgraded vacation, forgoing Art of Animation for something a bit fancier like Disney’s Riviera Resort? Ah, now you see the moral dilemma.

The opposite can also be true — especially if you’re not traveling with kids. Just because you’re flying solo as an adult doesn’t mean you’ve got to stay at one of the more “upscale” Disney World hotels, or those with even less theming. Staying at the Art of Animation without kids is a perfectly sane thing to do, especially because of the Skyliner!

And, let’s be honest — chances are that if you’re booking a trip to Disney World without kids, you’re probably a Disney Adult anyway. In that case, the more theming, the merrier!

Keep in mind, though, that when booking the non-family suites at Art of Animation (which are the standard Little Mermaid-themed rooms), you’ll be in the section of the resort furthest away from the Skyliner.

If it’s just Skyliner access you’re after, though, and still want to stay at a Disney World hotel that won’t break the bank — consider Pop Century instead, which shares a Skyliner station with Art of Animation.

On the flip side, you can dish out a little more dough for Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, which also has a Skyliner stop. If you’re really after a life of luxury, Disney’s Riviera Resort is going to be your best bet for a fancy hotel on the Skyliner route.

At the end of the day, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is one of our favorites and is loved by many. While it may not be the perfect fit for everyone, we think it’s got more pros than cons!
