EPCOT has seen so many changes over the recent years.
Last June, when CommuniCore Hall and Plaza opened, it officially marked the end of the EPCOT Transformation. This massive overhaul included the addition of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Creations Shop, Connections Café and Eatery, Luminous, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, and so much more.
Although EPCOT has changed so much, Disney fans have been begging for even more changes.
Walt Disney once said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world,” and the same goes for Disney World, especially EPCOT, which Walt dreamed up himself. We reached out to some Disney fans, AKA you, our awesome readers, to see what changes you would make to Disney World’s second park.
Update Journey Into Imagination With Figment
First things first, you all want to take care of our favorite purple dragon. Figment’s current ride, Journey Into Imagination With Figment, has left Disney fans unsatisfied and begging for a change. Many of you said that you want Disney to overhaul the attraction and bring back Dreamfinder.
While Figment has gained more representation in EPCOT over the last few years, such as bringing back the Figment meet and greet, Disney fans agree that it is time for Figment to get an updated attraction.
Add Another Country to the World Showcase
EPCOT’s World Showcase is home to 11 countries, but Disney originally planned for even more countries to be part of the World Showcase. Many fans wish Disney could add another country or even countries.
Disney has previously released press statements saying that Israel, Spain, and Equatorial Africa would join the EPCOT World Showcase line-up and even had signage in the park. Unfortunately, these countries were never built, but now fans are begging for the World Showcase to be home to at least 12 countries.
Build More Rides in the World Showcase
While the EPCOT Transformation brought a new ride to the France Pavilion in the World Showcase, some projects that were part of the transformation were unfortunately shelved. One of the projects planned for the UK Pavilion would have solved this change that Disney fans are begging for.
A Mary Poppins addition to the UK Pavilion would have allowed fans to walk down Cherry Tree Lane and ride on a Mary Poppins-themed attraction. Disney has said that the project is postponed indefinitely.
Less Intellectual Property
EPCOT used to be known as a theme park where you could learn about an array of topics, and while that is still valid, Disney has leaned towards using their IPs to educate park-goers.
Many Disney fans wish that Disney would bring back original projects like Horizons and re-open the abandoned Wonders of Life Pavilion. One reader said that they want to tell Disney to “get rid of all the garbage and bring it back to how it was.” Another reader wishes that Disney would bring back “edutainment,” which is a play on entertainment that would also educate you.
We have some unfortunate news for those who are anti-IP; last May, Bob Iger confirmed that all future park experiences will be IP-based.
The good news is that Disney is actually technically making a change to bring back part of “old EPCOT.” Test Track closed last summer to be refurbished into a third version of the attraction. This time, it is drawing inspiration from Test Track’s predecessor, World of Motion. The attraction is set to open later this summer.
More Shade Around the World Showcase
EPCOT is home to many International festivals throughout the year, which include different food booths spread throughout the park. While trashcan tables are a popular place to eat, Disney fans are begging for Disney to add more trees or tables with umbrellas around the World Showcase.
Not only would this be beneficial for festival-goers, but it would be nice for those who want to take a break from the Florida sun.
Well, there you have it! Although the EPCOT Transformation is completed, EPCOT is still changing and adding new experiences, like the previously mentioned Test Track 3.0, along with a brand-new Spaceship Earth-inspired lounge. So, who knows, maybe Disney will hear their fans’ cries and take a few of the changes they are begging for into account.

Update Journey into the Imagination. It was so wonderful and the after boat tour was so fun and interactive. Now so blah.
Enjoyed all the technology in the communicore east and west, now sadly gone.
Upgrade Figment bring dream finder back
Where honey I shrunk the kids show put “WreckI-In-Ralph” show he can pick up the audience etc like last show and move the crowds

BRING BACK THE LIFE SIZE DINOSAUERS IN THE WORLD OF ENERGY,THE VOLCANO SPEWING SMOKE WITH CHANTING IN MEXICO, AND THE VIKING SHIP IN NORWAY THAT BACKS OUT THE DOOR.
Agree with all of this, but they won’t add more seating and tables because they don’t want people sitting down. The more they move the more they spend.
If we could only have 1 of the things mentioned in your post, I would say one more ride along the showcase. 2nd choice would be more tables & shade.
Put Epcot back where the people use their imagination about the future of mankind not Disney mandating what will be.
