Should I Renew My Disney World Annual Pass in 2025?

A Disney World Annual Pass comes with several benefits.

Annual Pass

Passholders get free parking at the parks, discounts on select dining, merchandise, entertainment, and more, limited-edition magical extras, exclusive merchandise, and more. For lots of people getting and renewing their annual passes makes sense, but does it make sense for you in 2025?

Pricing

First, let’s talk about pricing. Annual Passes are available in four options — Pixie Dust Pass, Pirate Pass, Sorcerer Pass, and the Incredi-Pass.

Park Operations

If you’re considering renewing your annual pass for 2025, there are a few things you may want to consider. One of those things is the number of rides that will or will not be available to you while you’re visiting the parks. Will it be worth dropping the money to renew your pass if not all the rides will be available when you’re there?

Gran Fiesta Tour

Several rides are under refurbishment at the beginning of this year, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom will be closed until 2026! That means that there will be several rides unavailable throughout the year.

The number of rides available at the parks is only one aspect of park operations that you might want to think about when considering to renew your pass. Another thing to think about is how much construction is about to be at all of the parks this year. Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom will all have major construction projects going on that have either already started or will likely start later this year.

New construction walls at Animal Kingdom

DinoLand U.S.A. is getting phased closings for the new Pueblo Esperanza. Magic Kingdom will have walls and construction at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Villains Land, Rivers of America, and Tom Sawyer Island. Over at Hollywood Studios, Muppets Courtyard will eventually be turning into Monsters, Inc. Land. Lots of construction, including walls and potentially noise, will be coming to the parks in 2025.

How Often You Visit

If you’re thinking about renewing your annual pass, you may also want to consider how often you visited the parks in the past year.

Magic Kingdom

If you went enough times to make your pass worth its price and you plan on visiting at least the same amount of times in 2025, then it is probably worth renewing your pass. However, if you didn’t go as often as you thought you would and it would have been cheaper to just buy individual tickets each time you visited, then perhaps it’s not worth renewing your pass this year. This might involve some math, but it’s worth figuring out to save yourself a bit of money!

Epic Universe

Another thing to consider is that this year Epic Universe at Universal Orlando will be opening. Do you want to check out the brand-new theme park with a Universal Annual Pass this year instead of a Disney World Annual Pass?

Epic Universe is going to have five new lands, brand-new attractions, new dining, shopping, entertainment, and so much more. The new park opens on May 22nd, and the new theme park, along with the other parks Universal Orlando has to offer, may be a reason to rethink renewing your Disney World Annual Pass in 2025.

There are a lot of things to take into account when you consider renewing your Disney World Annual Pass. Hopefully, these items help make your decision a little easier as you get ready to make the decision!
