And that’s where WE come in! We’re gonna take through all of the twists and turns of this new park and just how EPIC it really is!
Universal Epic Universe, the highly anticipated fourth theme park at Universal Orlando, is set to open in May 2022. This colossal addition joins Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay, making it Universal’s largest U.S. park to date. Spanning 750 acres, Epic Universe will feature not only a sprawling theme park but also three hotels, shopping, and a wide variety of food and beverage options.
Promoted as Universal Destinations and Experiences’ most ambitious park to date, Epic Universe promises to be a game-changer in the world of theme park entertainment.
Epic Universe will boast five immersive themed lands, each packed with over 50 attractions, entertainment experiences, retail shops, and food and beverage outlets. The new lands include: Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and the enchanting Celestial Park.
At the core of Epic Universe lies Celestial Park, a realm filled with lush gardens, winding waterways, and scenic pathways. It will be the gateway to Epic Universe’s four additional lands, each accessible through magical portals.
- Dark Universe – This eerie world, inspired by Universal’s classic monsters, is a shadowy landscape where myth, mystery, and legendary creatures roam.
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic – Set in 1920s Paris from the Fantastic Beasts films and featuring the iconic British Ministry of Magic from Harry Potter. This new Wizarding World land adds an enchanting, international flair to the existing experience of Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade Village in Universal’s other adjoining parks.
- How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk – Enter a vibrant Viking-themed realm where guests can fly with dragons in an adventure inspired by the How to Train Your Dragon films.
- Super Nintendo World – Step into this gamified land through an iconic green pipe and immerse yourself in the world of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and more.
Epic Universe will feature three brand-new Universal hotels: Stella Nova Resort, Terra Luna Resort, and the Helios Grand Hotel. The Helios Grand Hotel offers guests exclusive access with its own dedicated entrance to the park. Stella Nova and Terra Luna are both adjacent to Epic Universe and offer more economical accommodations.

I live just up the street from UO and visit every weekend. After studying the impressive 1/96 scale model of Epic Universe, I have determined that the park covers 165 acres. I do not consider Celestial Park as a “realm,” but merely a neutral area, like the MK’s Hub, from which the lands radiate. I also predict that Dark Universe will quickly b become the most popular. It looks like what we want HHN to look like.
