BREAKING NEWS: Opening Date Announced For Universal's Epic Universe!

IT’S HERE! The day we’ve waited for for SO LONG is finally here!

We have been more than thrilled about Epic Universe since it was first announced, and following along with every single update to the construction process. Universal released the news recently that the park could be open as early as Memorial Day Weekend 2025, but now we have it — the OFFICIAL OPENING DATE for Epic Universe!

Universal has announced that Epic Universe will open to the public on May 22nd, 2025!

This is HUGE news, because it means that the park is opening months ahead of when originally expected. The original timeline was “in time for Summer 2025,” which could have meant later into summertime as well, since one could argue that opening anytime before summer is over is still “in time for summer 2025.” However, with this opening date, it’s clear that Universal was VERY confident they could hit that deadline for the past few years.

Many Universal fans and/or Disney critics have pointed out that the speed at which Universal was able to build an ENTIRE new park is extremely impressive on its own, especially when compared with Disney World. CommuniCore Hall and Plaza was announced to be opening in EPCOT in Disney World in 2022 and finally opened in 2024. However, that was two years for just ONE area of a park and a total of around seven years to complete the “reimagining” of EPCOT as a whole (which many fans have been disappointed by). It also took Disney World five years to complete TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom, though the COVID-19 pandemic delayed it.

In comparison, Epic Universe was announced in 2019 and was ALSO delayed by the pandemic, stopping around July 2020 and picking back up again in March 2021, according to Orlando Informer, but in just 5-5.5 years (including the delay), Universal will have built an entirely new park with over 50 new attractions. That’s certainly an incredible feat!

Next week, the first phase of ticket products and packages (which includes access to Universal Epic Universe) will go on sale. Specific products launching in Universal’s first phase include:

A variety of multi-day tickets and vacation packages that include three, four, or five days of admission to Universal’s theme parks — including one-day admission to Epic Universe
- These products will go on sale on Tuesday, October 22nd
Reservations for Universal Helios Grand Hotel will open on Tuesday, October 22nd, for stays beginning May 22nd, 2025
Annual Passholders have the exclusive opportunity to purchase single-day tickets to Universal Epic Universe before they go on sale to the general public
- Passholders can take advantage of this priority opportunity beginning Thursday, October 24th

This new park features five lands, all with their own attractions, stores, and restaurants — Celestial Park, How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic.

Universal also confirmed that additional ticket products for Epic Universe, including:

Single-day tickets for the general public
Additional multi-day ticket options
Florida resident tickets
Universal Express passes

will be available “at a later date before the park opens.”

When the first phase of tickets goes on sale on October 22nd, three multi-day options will be available. These include:

3-Day Ticket: two days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day of admission to Universal Epic Universe
4-Day Ticket: enjoy three days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day admission to Universal Epic Universe
5-Day Ticket: enjoy four days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure, plus one separate day admission to Universal Epic Universe

You can also add access to Universal Volcano Bay to any of the ticket options listed above. Universal also explained that you will have the opportunity to save up to $200 if you bundle a two-night (or longer) stay at a Universal hotel with one of the multi-day ticket options above.
