We cannot WAIT for Epic Universe to open in Orlando next year!
This new park has five different lands inspired by Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, Universal Villains/Monsters, Super Nintendo, and Celestial Park. As of right now, we still don’t have an exact opening date, but we do know it’ll be open “in time for Summer 2025.“ If you’re planning a trip to visit the new park next year with your family and don’t know if your kids will be tall enough for the big rides, let’s go over every single height requirement so you’re prepared!
Celestial Park
This is the main area of the park, where you’ll enter, and where you’ll take “portals” to the other lands! You’ll be able to experience the following rides in this area of the park:
- Stardust Racers (riders must be a minimum of 48 inches tall)
- Constellation Carousel (no height requirement, but children under 48 inches must be accompanied by a companion over 48 inches, and hand-held infants are not allowed)
- Astronomica (as this is a water play area, there is no height requirement)
Super Nintendo World
This area takes a lot of inspiration from the land you can currently find in Universal Studios Hollywood, and we’re so excited it’s finally coming to Orlando!
- Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge (minimum height requirement of 40 inches)
- Mine Kart Madness (minimum height requirement of 36 inches)
- Yoshi’s Adventure (minimum height requirement of 34 inches)
Dark Universe
Dark Universe is the section where many Universal fans are looking forward to experiencing a land that’s never been seen before. Here, you’ll be able to experience the following:
- Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment (minimum height requirement of 48 inches)
- Curse of the Werewolf (minimum height requirement of 40 inches)
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: The Ministry of Magic
The third Harry Potter land in the Universal Orlando area will have one major attraction (meaning it’s going to be most likely VERY busy), which is Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry!
It will have a minimum height requirement of 40 inches, which means it won’t be great for little ones, but kids around 6-7 years old and up will likely be able to ride.
How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk
Another land fans are really looking forward to is Isle of Berk, where we now know we’ll get to see dragons flying in the sky! The attractions in this area are:
- Hiccup’s Wing Gliders (minimum height requirement of 40 inches)
- Fyre Drill (no height requirement!)
- Dragon Racer’s Rally (minimum height requirement of 48 inches)
We are so beyond excited to get to experience all of these attractions in the coming year! Looking for more recent Universal Orlando news? Check out our posts below!

Surprised at some of the low height requirements for some of these (especially the Donkey Kong coaster at just 36 inches!)
