A Popular Magic Kingdom Ride Is CLOSING This Week

Another popular Disney World ride is closing this week!

Disney has been shutting down rides a lot recently for refurbishment. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster just reopened after a lengthy closure and Test Track just closed for a major overhaul. Now, another ride is closing for refurbishment for over a month! Let’s find out what will be closed this week in Disney World.

Peter Pan’s Flight

Peter Pan’s Flight will be closing on July 8th for an extended refurbishment.

The ride will be closed until August 21st, however Disney has not made an official announcement sharing details of what will be getting worked on. The ride is usually a very popular choice for guests, but it will be unavailable for over a month.

We’ll be watching for updates from Disney about this ride! In the meantime, check out what other attractions and restaurants will be closed this week, July 7th through July 14th.

Country Bear Jamboree

Country Bear Jamboree is still being reimagined in Magic Kingdom. The show closed on January 27th and will reopen with the new, updated show on July 17th.

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade

The opening day attracting, the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, officially closed on June 23rd.

This closure is to make room for a new DVC lounge that will soon be coming to Frontierland. This will be the third DVC lounge in Disney World, but we don’t have an opening date, yet.

Tomorrowland Terrace

Tomorrowland Terrace is a restaurant in Magic Kingdom that has usually only been open occasionally, generally during particularly busy seasons. However, it’s been a LONG time since we’ve seen this spot open at all.

Currently, it’s only used for Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert parties, and there’s no word on when it might serve food again.

Disney Cancels TWO Iconic Magic Kingdom Shows for Three (!!!) Weeks

Test Track

Test Track closed on June 17th and we don’t have any information about its reopening date or timeline yet.  The ride is being reimagined! Besides some concept art, we don’t know much about what this update will entail.

We know that the ride will continue to be a partnership with Chevrolet and that they will be taking some inspiration from the original ride World of Motion.

Restaurant Marrakesh

Restaurant Marrakesh in the Morocco pavilion of World Showcase is closed. The restaurant was previously used as an Annual Passholder lounge during the V.I.Passholder Days, but it has closed once again.

We’re still waiting for the full dining experience to return to this restaurant.

Disney Vacation Club Lounge

The DVC lounge at the Imagination pavilion closed for refurbishment on June 2nd.

The lounge will be closed until July 13th, but while it’s closed, DVC members can use the temporary lounge located at the Odyssey pavilion.

These exclusive lounges offer a place for members to hang out and relax while recharging their phones and themselves. Food and beverages are offered, but remember to go to the Odyssey pavilion for the next few weeks.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid as we know it will NOT return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s closed now, and Disney has confirmed that this show has permanently closed to make way for an updated version.

“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure”, an all-new stage show, will replace the show in the Animation Courtyard theater in Fall 2024.

If you’re staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort soon, you’ll need to know about this update!

World Premiere Food Court is undergoing refurbishment through July 31st

The World Premiere Food Court is undergoing refurbishment through July 31st. The restaurant isn’t totally closed though! You can still use mobile order to choose food items off a limited menu while it is getting a face-lift.

Typhoon Lagoon was closed for several months but finally opened on March 17th, 2024! Woo hoo!

However, on that same day (March 17th) Blizzard Beach closed for refurbishments. Since it just closed, we do not know when it will reopen again, but since 2020 we’ve noticed that the two water parks generally flip-flop being open.

That means that, even though it’s currently summertime and thus peak water park season, we may only have one option of water parks to go to. We’ll be watching for news of Blizzard Beach reopening, but for now, just head over to Typhoon Lagoon!
