EPCOT is looking much different today than it did at the beginning of June. CommuniCore Hall and Plaza opened on June 10th, and Test Track is now temporarily closed for refurbishment.
That means that it is time for a new map in EPCOT, and we spotted the debut of the new map this morning!
The new map features a picture of a family enjoying Luminous, The Symphony of Us and has a couple of new additions.
This new guidemap debuted today, June 17th, 2024, and is up to date with the closure of Test Track and the addition of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza. Let’s take a look inside and see the new details.
The main changes are that the map now states that Test Track is “closed temporarily for reimagination.” There is no date listed for reopening. The activities at CommuniCore Hall and Plaza were also added to the map. Meet Mickey and Friends is now listed in attractions, and Festival Favorites is listed in dining.
The opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza marked the end of the multi-year EPCOT transformation, but the park is still undergoing change. Test Track officially closed on June 17th, 2024, for reimagination. Disney hasn’t revealed much about the changes coming to Test Track or how long the refurbishment will take. We have seen some concept art for the reimagination, and we saw a permit filed for Test Track that expires on February 28th, 2025.
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza are new spaces in EPCOT that has been designed for upcoming festivals. In addition to festivals, the CommuniCore Plaza hosts a new show called “¡Celebración Encanto!” As well, CommuniCore Hall houses the new Mickey and Friends meet and greet, as well as a new dining option, Festival Favorites. Inside of the hall, you will also find a large, air-conditioned seating area.
