As you probably already know, 2023 marked the 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company.
To celebrate at Disney World, Soarin’ Over California took over the Soarin’ Around the World attraction. You see, this is the original version of the attraction and has quite the fanbase! People love it for the nostalgia as well as the sweet, sweet scent of oranges that wafts up as you’re soarin’ over the orange groves of Cali. We thought the original version of the attraction would disappear at the end of the 100th Anniversary Celebration, but it surprised us by sticking around a while longer. We selfishly hoped we’d have it for several more months. But alas…
Disney’s website has been updated to show NO HOURS for Soarin’ Over California after February 27th.
Yes, this means that the LAST day that you’ll be able to experience Soarin’ Over California in EPCOT is February 27th.
After that, it’ll go back to Soarin’ Around the World! While we’ll miss the smell of oranges, we are excited to see the bendy Eiffel Tower again. We must admit it.
We aren’t sure when we can expect Soarin’ Over California to return to Disney World, but we have a feeling it won’t be for a long, long time.

California version much better….I’ll miss it since won’t be there u til later this Spring
I wish they would leave one of the three “hangers” as the California version. The World version relies way too much on CGI. Love the sunset surfers in the original.
If Soarin over California is so popular, why not add it? Have Soarin over California where it is now and add Soarin over the World in the World Showcase. Problem solved.
Soarin’ over California is by far my favorite. It is a gentle glide over beautiful scenery. The World version has too many jerky edits and explosive sound effects…..way too jarring!
Not happy. California Soarin’ was the first ride I took with my partner. We’re going in one month, so we’ll miss it. Bendy Eiffel Tower is just rubbish. Grrrr
