3 NEW Unspoken Rules for Magic Kingdom

These days, Magic Kingdom is looking a little different than it has in years past!

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom has recently welcomed two NEW attractions in the arrival of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the freshly reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree, changing the way we visit. With these new attractions in addition to new offerings available to the public, how we go about a typical day at Magic Kingdom undoubtedly looks different than it used to.

While Disney World has its own set of rules, avid Disney fans like ourselves have our own set of unspoken rules that help guide us through our Disney adventures on a path towards an excellent trip. In fact, we’ve recently had to change our unspoken Magic Kingdom rules to accommodate the changes to the park. Let”s check out three that stand out!

Try the new Sleepy Hollow waffles (and cry about the old ones)

Sleepy Hollow is a quick-service kiosk in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom known for its waffles, funnel cakes, and frozen coffee drinks. While the menu still has plenty of sweet treats, we’ve suffered a fallen favorite.

WE WANT REGULAR WAFFLES BACK

The beloved waffle sandwiches have been dropped from the menu and replaced with four different Mickey Waffle and funnel cake platters. The new offerings include a Mickey Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread and bananas for $8.49, a Funnel Cake with Chocolate-Hazelnut spread, and bananas for $8.49, a Mickey Waffle with sweet-and-Spicy Maple Chicken for $11.49, and a Mickey Waffle with Berries and Powdered Sugar for $8.49.

We tried each new offering and the results were mixed. The Mickey Waffles had a spongey and soft consistency that made them less convenient than the sandwiches, and it’s a real bummer because the waffle sandwiches were arguably Magic Kingdom’s best grab-and-go snack option.

Still, we recommend you give them a try to form your own opinion — but it’s totally understandable to cry and miss the old waffle sandwiches!

Disney, You’ve Gone TOO FAR. Another Beloved Snack Is GONE from Magic Kingdom! 😭

Wake up at 7AM to get into the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure just opened at Magic Kingdom last month so it’s no surprise the demand is off the charts. With no standby option available during regular hours yet, you’re limited to using Lightning Lane Multi Pass or the virtual queue.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

If you didn’t purchase a Lightning Lane reservation ahead of time for Tiana’s Bayou Aventure, your last hope of riding rests on joining the virtual queue and getting a boarding group.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

To join, you’ll have to be up, ready to go at 7AM (yikes). That’s when the queue opens in the My Disney Experience app and you can try to get one of the coveted boarding groups. For this queue, you don’t need to be inside Magic Kingdom.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Joining the queue does not guarantee a boarding group and issues have been coming up since the ride debuted. Fortunately, you can try your luck once again at 1PM, but please note YOU MUST be inside Magic Kingdom to access the queue at that time.

We had so much fun!

Also worth noting, guests can only hold ONE Tiana’s Bayou virtual queue per day. Learn more about the process by clicking the link below!

Be prepared to spend extra time in Frontierland to check out the new Country Bear Jamboree

Country Bear Jamboree closed earlier this year to make way for the reimagined Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

Country Bear Musical Jamboree

This show, which officially reopened on July 17th, features new music based on the “Opry-style shows of Nashville” according to Disney, and includes the bears performing “reinterpreted Disney tunes in different genres of country music – like bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly and other styles.”

The whole band!

Country Bear Musical Jamboree mostly features countryfied Disney songs such as renditions of “A Whole New World,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “Bare Necessities,” and many more. We were big fans of the new hydraulics, how interactive the show gets, and how it pays homage to the original version.

Hey guys!

This show probably has a wider appeal than it ever has, so make sure you stop on by during your next visit and let us know your review!
