It’s time for a hootin’ and hollerin’ new show!

That’s right, the Country Bears are BACK, baby! The show has been closed for several months in Magic Kingdom to get an overhaul with new music, new theming, and new costumes for the bears, and now we’re finally getting the chance to see it. So come along with us as we share our honest thoughts!
Disney invited us out for a media preview of the updated Country Bear Jamboree show, and we got to step back inside Grizzly Hall to check it out. Let’s go in!

Immediately, we noticed some changes to the theater, including new posters out front.

In the lobby area, they’ve got brand new displays with memorabilia and artifacts for each of the bears. How fun!

Then it was time to sit down for the show! As we mentioned before, the new version features new songs, new costumes, and a new storyline. (Click here to learn more about what the show features!)

But now that we’ve seen the whole show, what did we REALLY think? We’re here to break down our opinions for you and give you all the juicy details you need to know. Let’s dive in!

First of all, it’s important to note that the show mostly features Disney songs that have been “countryfied” for the bears to sing. We heard renditions of “A Whole New World,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “Bare Necessities,” and several others. And honestly? We loved it!

With Disney lyrics, it’s easier for people to get into the songs and sing along, and our crowd seemed to be really enjoying the new tunes.

The new show has several nods to the previous show, and most of the bears that you know and love are still there in their original forms, just with new costumes! And Big Al even did a little bit of a “Blood on the Saddle” tease which really made the audience laugh.

We really liked the songs that Disney chose for the show, as they translated pretty well into their country versions. “The Bare Necessities” was a particular favorite, especially since everyone sings it together.

And in general, it seems like Disney really took the time to update the hydraulics and animatronics for the show, because there weren’t any little delays or glitches that the show seemed prone to previously. By the time we left, we overheard many people talking about how impressed they were with the new show and how Disney was able to pull it off so seamlessly.

So yeah, it’s not the same as it was before, but it still has a similar vibe and it’s probably more appealing to a variety of audiences now. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

That’s a wrap on our thoughts about the new show! Stay tuned to AllEars for more coverage from the Disney World parks.
