EPCOT feels like it’s been under construction FOREVER!
However, we’ve seen a few changes since the first round of walls went up to transform EPCOT’s World Celebration, like colorful tiles across the side of the Communicore Hall building and the opening of Journey of Water Inspired by Moana. But if you’re willing to look closely, you might find a hint of what’s in store when the rest of the walls come down!
While we’re all eagerly waiting for the construction walls to come down in just a few days, we recently happened upon an interesting new detail.
A few weeks back, some of the construction walls surrounding the middle of the park close to the Creations Shop had been moved back a bit, and recently, they’ve been moved again.
Glancing down, we couldn’t help but notice the intricate design of the new metal grating around the base of the trees planted nearby.
They appear to have an interesting woven design and are already aged a little (we’re hoping this was by design). If you happen to miss them because you’re looking elsewhere, you’ll probably hear them as people walk across and passing scooters ride over because they seem to make sounds as they’re run over.
We’ll be interested to see how this peek at the design of World Celebration ties into the rest of the theming in this area once we can finally walk across EPCOT again. Be sure to check back in with us for more Disney World updates soon.
