One Disney World Attraction Has Been Closed ALL Week

Attraction and ride closures happen all the time in Disney World.

Sometimes rides close due to technical difficulties or other problems. Sometimes rides close due to bad weather. Sometimes rides close for refurbishment. But one attraction in Disney World has been closed all week — and currently does not have a reopening set.

When we’ve been looking at the daily wait times in Disney World, we noticed that an attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been closed EVERY day this week. That attraction is Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, which remains “temporarily closed” as of today.

When we asked Cast Members if they had any information on what was going on with the attraction, we were told it was a “maintenance issue” and that there is currently no known reopening.

Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is a 10-minute show featuring Lightning McQueen and other stars of the Cars movie. During the show, guests can see audio-animatronic versions of these characters come to life during the show.

This is why it’s important to have a backup plan when you’re visiting Disney World because these unexpected things do happen.  In the meantime, you can still check out other shows in Hollywood Studios, including For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Beauty and the Beast — Live On Stage, and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.
