Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Will Have a LONG Closure in Disney World

We’re headed into the summer with another popular rollercoaster in Disney World under refurbishment.

Rock n Roller Coaster

Earlier this year, we saw  Splash Mountain close for a nearly two-year project to become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.  And now we have another closure in Disney World — and this one will last for a while.

Adding to a growing list of rides and attractions that will be unavailable for a good portion of 2023, Disney announced that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Hollywood Studios is going to be undergoing some refurbishment. The closure officially began on February 20th, 2023.

Right now there is no set opening date, only a timeline of reopening sometime in summer 2023.

  1. They should re-theme it. I never understood why a family theme park would feature a performing act that was so inappropriate for families. Much of Aerosmith’s lyrics are inappropriate for kids, and their lifestyles seem to match their songs. The recent accusations against Steven Tyler, which have been public knowledge for decades, should be the final straw for this attraction. It is a great roller coaster, but Aerosmith’s involvement was a mistake.

  2. This is my favorite roller coaster ever. I heard somewhere that they were losing the rights to Aerosmith music. I hope they don’t have to retheme it.

    1. Hi! The Aerosmith music going away was just a rumor started online. There are no plans to re-theme the music or ride during the refurbishment that we have heard.
