We’ve all been there — you’re pumped about a new theme park attraction opening. You’ve waited in line, you get on the ride, and suddenly you realize —Â you’ve made a huge mistake.

Some attractions are more motion sickness-inducing than others, and two that come to mind are Mission: SPACE in Disney World’s EPCOT and The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios! We wanted to know how the two popular rides known for being a bit harsh on the tummy stacked up — so we asked our readers for some help!
We took to our Facebook page to pose the question, “You have to ride one: Mission SPACE in EPCOT or The Simpsons Ride at Universal”?
Our readers had some seriously strong opinions about each of these rides!
The Simpsons Ride
Fans of both Disney and Universal were quick to defend this Springfield-themed ride, Mike K. stating, “The Simpsons, [I’m] having an anxiety attack thinking about my one time on Mission Space.”

Stephanie G. kindly pointed out that The Simpsons Ride doesn’t supply air sickness bags in the ride vehicles (they are provided in Mission: SPACE, so we get the point).

Several other readers replied that they preferred The Simpsons Ride because it was more entertaining. John V. thought the ride was “hilarious”, while Anthony C. kept it simple, stating “I love that ride”!
Mission: SPACE
There’s a reason why the signage in the Mission: SPACE line warns that it’s “a realistic and intense simulation of space flight. It is unlike anything that you have ever experienced.” They’re not wrong! Even folks with historically strong stomachs have reported feeling woozy after stepping off this ride.

We even received a plan of action from Pam H. — to set herself up for success she has to do “Bathroom first, no food x 5 hours prior then I can do Mission: SPACE”!

Several of our readers replied that they’d choose Mission: SPACE, but only if they could choose the Green (less intense) Side! There were also a good amount of responses from people swearing that they would never ride either attraction again!

Whatever your opinion on these rides might be, we can always count on our readers for telling us how they feel! If you want to join in on the conversation, like our Facebook page — and be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for more!

Which of these two attractions would you rather ride? Let us know in the comments!
Have done both green and orange Mission Space. We pretty much do only the green side now – there’s just no reason to take a chance. It’s a nice ride, and I’m a space buff, so it’s something that I enjoy.
Agree that the Simpsons is pretty intense, but it’s a fun and hilarious ride, and both the show that you watch while you are in line and the actual pre-show area are the Simpsons at their best (we have a “Bort” License Plate at home!). One major issue I have with the Simpsons, however, is that I always bang my head/neck/shoulders on the top of the vehicle while getting tossed around during the ride if I’m in the back (covered) part of the vehicle. Very painful, and I’m only about 6’1″. Can’t imagine what a truly tall person would deal with!!!
All things considered, the Simpsons is still the winner for me! This is a ride that truly captures the spirit of its inspiration!
I love Mission Space both orange and green versions. Have only done The Simpsons once, but it was good too.
Harry Potter and the forbidden journey made me feel the most nauseated I’ve ever been at a theme park, I had to run off the ride and go buy a sprite right away to stave off a midway disaster.
I can proudly say neither of these rides really make me dizzy🥳 But I do find Simpson’s more entertaining so I would probably choose that!
