PHOTOS: Another Look at Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Park Icon Makeovers!

The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary is almost here!

The 18-month long celebrations are set to kick off on October 1st, and we’re already starting to see some things arrive in the parks! Besides all of the construction projects and refurbishments going on, we finally saw the first merchandise for the anniversary debut and now we’ve got another look at what we can look forward to in the parks at night!

We already knew that all four Disney Park icons would become “Beacons of Magic” with lighting and “magical” touches beginning in October, but Disney has now shared an even bigger sneak peek of the transformation!

During the day, guests can already check out Cinderella Castle’s BIG makeover for the 50th anniversary at Magic Kingdom…

…but at night, it will feature even more glamour with shades of blue, purple, and pink projected onto the castle.

Over at EPCOT, Spaceship Earth and the entire updated entrance area will be covered in the new color palette as well! In the new concept art, we can see that Spaceship Earth is sparking with different shades of purple, blue, and green that will actually be on the icon itself! And, it looks like the rest of the entrance area will glow with the colors too.

We also got another look at the projections coming to Tower of Terror (aka The Hollywood Tower Hotel) in  Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It will feature a similar color scheme to the other park icons.

And, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll be able to watch the Tree of Life from afar as the lights make it look as though there are small purple, green, and blue fireflies flying around the leaves and projections light up the animals carved into the icon.

We can’t wait to check out these park icons at night and it turns out that they won’t just be exciting to look at, there will also be something exciting to hear while you’re there too!

Disney has shared a preview of the new 50th Anniversary anthem called “The Magic Is Calling,” which will be played when each park icon transforms into a “Beacon of Magic” on select nights!
