As Walt Disney World reopens, we’ve seen some of our favorite live performances come back in unique ways.
From Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitors in the America Gardens Theatre in EPCOT, to the newly reopened socially distanced Disney Junior Dance Party in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we’ve been seeing live performances take on new and exciting forms! Now, it seems we’ll be getting some new entertainment in Hollywood Studios!
As you head down Sunset Boulevard at Hollywood Studios, you will find the Theater of the Stars toward the end of the street on the right-hand side. This is typically the location where Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage is performed.
It seems that since Disney World and the Actors’ Equity Association’s have been unable to reach an agreement on how to safely bring Equity performers back to Disney World, Beauty and the Beast will be temporarily replaced by a new entertainment offering at this location — The Disney Society Orchestra and Friends!
There are several showtimes listed throughout the day so you can catch this show multiple times a day or whenever it’s most convenient for you, between rides of Rise of the Resistance. We spoke with a Cast Member who said, while the show will likely be temporary, there is currently no end date set for these special performances.
However, if you’re a big Beauty and the Beast fan, you’ll be happy to know this show has a special surprise in store for you — an appearance from some of your favorite characters!
We’ve seen the Theatre of the Stars used for other special entertainment offerings in the past, so we’re excited to check out this show and listen to some of our favorite Disney tunes being played live.
