Construction Update: Space Restaurant and France Pavilion

There is so much construction going on in Epcot these days, it’s really hard to keep up! On a recent walk around the park, though, we took the time to catch up on a couple projects to see what was happening.

Two of the constructions projects we checked on were the upcoming Space restaurant that will be adjacent to the Mission: Space attraction, and work going on in the France pavilion.

The Space restaurant was originally announced at the D23 Expo in 2017. At the time we learned little more than that the storyline would involve guests traveling into space for dining experiences in the stars.

We also know that the restaurant will be located in a newly developed area located between Epcot’s Mission: SPACE and Test Track attractions.

As you can see from our recent photos, you can now catch a glimpse of the building at the end of the walkway that separates the two attractions.

The new restaurant will be operated by the Patina Restaurant Group, which also operates Tutto Italia and Via Napoli at Epcot and Morimoto Asia and Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante at Disney Springs.

Over in World Showcase, work is continuing in and around the France pavilion.

The construction of the International Gateway station of the Disney Skyliner has affected the waterside area of the France pavilion’s building for some time.

There is also work going on behind the pavilion, which will eventually house the new attraction, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventures. This new ride, which was also announced at the 2017 D23 Expo, will be similar to the 4D attraction in Disneyland Paris, Ratatouille: the Adventure. It’s due to open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort in 2021.
