Tips for Disney Parks & Cruise Lines
Being a tea rather than coffee drinker, I want to fix my beverage of choice in the room. On my last trip I packed a ceramic mug from the local dollar store filled with my favorite tea bags. I could put the mug in place of the coffee pot, remove the interior of the brew basket, and run the hot water through without getting "coffee tea", a brew that many tea drinkers are familiar with. At the end of my trip, I just left the mug in the room, and had a bit more room for souvenirs. - Grandeb

Don't get stuck in the dark like we did. We rented a car for our honeymoon in Florida. We picked it up during the day. When night fell we were trying to navigate by map. Our dome light in our car did not work. So our next trip we will not forget to bring a small flashlight or most smart phones have a flashlight app. - Jennica McCoy Chryst

Animal Kingdom - Shoes are required on Kali River Rapids, but who wants to walk around in wet shoes and socks for the rest of the day? We bring cheap flip-flops in the backpack and switch out of our walking shoes to the flip-flops before riding Kali River Rapids. After the ride, switch back to dry, comfortable walking shoes. We also wear clothes that dry fast on the days we ride the "you will get wet" rides. Both make for a much more pleasant day. - Chris Devore

We always like bringing pieces of WDW home with us. One of our favorite restaurants, Liberty Tree Tavern, sells the glass mugs that are used in the restaurant for only $5 each. We brought a few home with us and love using them. They make a fun, inexpensive souvenir that we actually can use every day. - Lori Craig
For those using Disney's Magical Express (DME) service, know in advance how many yellow Magical Express luggage tags you will need. If you plan on bringing two or more bags per person, let DME know when booking your reservation. They only sent me one tag per person about 30 days prior to our trip, when I needed two per person. - Jessica Brogley

Do you want real coffee on your trip? Sick of Nescafe? Can you find hot water at your resort? Bring Starbucks Via instant coffee (or your favorite instant coffee packets)! It's delicious, and it's small enough to carry in your pocket in case you want it while you're at a park. - Dani Maz
EDITOR'S NOTE: And if you don't carry instant coffee with you, refer to the AllEars.Net list of places you can find fresh brewed coffee around Walt Disney World: http://allears.net/din/coffee.htm

For those interested in low-carb dining -- There is a great fruit and cheese plate at Sunshine Seasons at the Land in Epcot -- less than $6 for a good amount of food. These disappear fast so grab one early for lunch. - Sue McGill

A great way to psych yourself up for an upcoming trip to the World is to save your AllEars® newsletters for later reading. I've spent the last few weeks "catching up" on the latest Disney news in preparation for our upcoming trip. They help keep the Magic alive in the meantime, and are invaluable in terms of tips and information before you go! I, for one, can never get enough Disney information, and being able to read my newsletters one after the other is a wonderful treat when it feels like the Disney countdown isn't moving fast enough! - Karen P. Jordan
EDITOR'S NOTE: Thanks, Karen, both for the positive feedback, and for giving us a chance to shamelessly promote AllEars®!

Thank you so much for your WDW at large info! Like many others, I have tons of anxiety before amusement park visits, but your site put me at ease. Since it was so helpful to me, I wanted to share my experience at Disneyland Resort. I am a 310-lb. woman with large legs, hips and bottom, size 24/26. I was able to ride everything at Disneyland just fine. Yes, some rides such as Star Tours and Goofy's Sky School weren't super-roomy, but I fit with no problem. The tip of pulling out the seat belt before sitting down was very helpful. My advice: relax and go have a magical time! - Kate L.

Here's a tip for UK guests -- If you need to phone Disney to make reservations (restaurants, dessert parties, etc.), try phoning the US telephone number direct using Skype, as this is much cheaper than landline or mobile calls to USA. - Nicky
EDITOR'S NOTE: This is actually a good tip for US vacationers, too. If you use Skype or some other VOIP (voice over internet protocol) service, you can avoid a lot of long-distance charges.

I realized last week at the parks, as soon as you tap your MagicBand for your third FastPass of the day, that FastPass is considered used and you are eligible for another right away! You don't have to wait until you get off the ride to choose your next FP+. So if there is a short FastPass line for that third ride, take a minute and check what's available for your next FP+ on My Disney Experience. By the time you finish with attraction #3, you can go right to your next FP attraction, and so on, and so on... We rode so many rides this way! - Cynthia
