The portions at full service restaurants are typically very large. We order 1 or 2 appetizers and a dessert, or one entree and one appetizer and share. If you like a big breakfast, the best deal in the parks is at the Trail's End Buffeteria at Fort Wilderness. It has the same general menu as many of the other buffets, but no characters, plus the price is only $15.99 per adult! Pack some bandannas in your suitcase. They don't take up much space and can be used for quick identification of your car in the parking lots (tie on the antenna), your rental stroller (tie on the handle), or your kids! Also handy as hats, napkins, entertainment (peek-a-boo, etc.). I just wanted to remind people to check any mugs they buy to see if they are microwave-safe. I purchased a Muppets mug as a souvenir and was surprised when I came home and discovered it is not microwave-safe! I love to heat water for tea in my microwave and I'm disappointed that I cannot use my new mug for that. - Kristine Stever

Save money by ordering water instead of sodas when you dine. It's better for you, and the savings can allow you to purchase one or more desserts to split. Everyone knows Disney has great desserts! - Jane

Bring a soft-sided cooler for your room and fill it with ice from the ice machines to keep beverages and food cold. If you use large zip-top bags to hold the ice, you will keep the contents dry and make it easier to change the ice. This is a way you can keep the fixings for a quick, inexpensive breakfast in the room, and beer or wine for the evening. - Daisimae

Before buying the guidebooks, try your local public library. Most libraries have extensive sections of travel books. If your local library doesn't have the book you want, they might be able borrow it from another library. If you decide to buy a guidebook anyway, borrowing from the library first can give you a good idea which book or books are best for your needs. - Becky

We like to do the character meals not only for the characters, but for the food as well. Many of the meals are buffet style, and that's great for children (and hungry men!). You know up front what it's going to cost. You're not limited to choosing one entree, and you don't need to wait to be served. The entertainment is just the "icing on the cake"! To me, these are plenty of reasons to do more than one character meal. It really makes you feel like you're in Disney!- Angela

Last time we went to Disney, we did something that worked really well for us in terms of saving money. We told the children that they'd be able to pick out one gift each on a special shopping day at the end of the week at the Disney Marketplace. It saved us so much whining, "I want that!" and "Can I please have...?" If the children saw something they wanted, we simply wrote it down on a special Disney wish list. -- Jeanette

Whenever we visit the World, I always try to wear shirts that have something local from home, like a favorite sports team. Cast members and other guests from the same part of the country get pretty excited to see others from "home." We have had some great conversations and little "extras" from cast members that have resulted from just wearing one of my favorite T-shirts from home. - Paul B.

We like to order snacks from www.netgrocer.com and have them delivered. It's cheaper than buying them there, and as we are not big breakfast eaters, a cereal bar works for us and saves us money. - Jess

I put Velcro on the bottom of the antenna toppers, so I can attach them to places in my cubicle at work. I can now decorate for every season. My fellow workers think it is a great idea. It helps them remember their Disney trips. - Jack

When packing for vacation, my husband, son and I use two large suitcases (plus our carry-ons). For the two large suitcases, we split all of our clothes in half. Half of everything goes in each suitcase. Most times, when the airlines lose luggage, they don't lose every piece belonging to one family. You should have half of your clothes when you arrive if you do lose one piece of luggage. I would much rather end up having to do laundry than spending my extra cash on all new clothes. - Lynn
