The Magic Kingdom has been a pop culture icon for over 50 years, meaning that several generations, many of whom have become modern Disney Adults, have grown up with the park.

Given those emotional attachments, it makes sense that there are some things nearly every Disney Adult does when visiting the Magic Kingdom in 2026, ranging from riding iconic decades-old attractions to enjoying the park’s latest offerings and maybe even some complaining along the way.
Taken a Restful Ride on The PeopleMover
While many Disney Adults may not want to hear it, those reaching their 30s and 40s and beyond have bodies that can’t quite hold up the rigors of a full day at the Magic Kingdom the way they used to. That’s where the legendary PeopleMover comes in. Not only does this Tomorrowland classic provide gorgeous views of the Magic Kingdom, but it’s a nice 10-minute rest for an aching body.

Watched Disney Starlight
In 2025, Disney introduced the new after-dark parade: Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. The new nighttime spectacular features characters from a number of Disney films, including Moana, Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, and Pinocchio. The show is filled with sparkly lights, stunning floats, and beloved characters.

Had a Drink at the Beak and Barrel
Also in 2025, Disney opened the new Beak and Barrel lounge. This Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired bar is described by Disney as a “rambunctious watering hole (that would) offer a welcoming haven for all pirate-kind, big and small, and everyone in between. Here, bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas are welcome to join together and raise a toast to the pirate life!

Having a drink in the heavily pirate-themed bar — be it a non-alcoholic beverage like the Treasure Trove and The Cursed Treasure or a traditional cocktail like the Salty Seas mARRRgarita, the Siren’s Whisper, the Barrels Ablaze, or the Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale — seems like a must for Disney Adults these days.

Complained About Construction Walls
Of course, anything new requires construction, and these days the western portion of the Magic Kingdom is a maze of construction walls, which most Disney Adults have… ahem… polite thoughts on. Especially since said construction led to the closure of the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island.

Ridden the Haunted Mansion Just Before the Park Closed
Let’s end with arguably the best end-of-the-night ride in the park: The Haunted Mansion. While the ride experience itself is the same, there’s something about waiting in the queue during the dark of night as the park starts to empty out that truly sets the mood.

You won’t find many Disney Adults who don’t do at least a few of these things during their trips to the Magic Kingdom. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney takes.
