5 Ride Problems Fans Are BEGGING Disney World To Fix ASAP

Walt Disney World offers a large spectrum of rides, from amusement park classics given a Disney shine to technologically advanced E-Ticket attractions, many of which have become beloved by generations of fans. However, that doesn’t mean everything is perfect.

Disco Yeti is B Mode, for example!

Recently, we took to our Facebook to ask our readers, “What’s a Disney World ride issue that needs to be fixed ASAP in your opinion?” and received a litany of responses calling for individual ride changes, makeovers of park philosophies, and countless demands for a certain animatronic to finally do more than disco.

Let’s begin with that animatronic, the so-called “Disco Yeti” AKA the central Yeti animatronic at the heart of Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest. Fans old enough to remember the large amount of hype around the animatronic, including several television specials lauding it as the most advanced animatronic in Disney history.

However, after just a few months of operation, the animatronic was moved to a static “B-Mode” (derisively referred to as “Disco Yeti” because of the use of strobe lights to attempt to mimic movement) and has remained so since. Several readers, including Jim, Greg, and Elaine, demanded Disney finally find a fix for the alleged structural issues that led to the change.

Beyond the Yeti, several users brought up issues with another of Animal Kingdom’s E-Ticket attractions: Avatar Flight of Passage. Readers Alyssa, Charlene, Marci, Mike, and Jessica all called out the attraction’s screen clarity.

As the latter wrote, “Flight of Passage is blurry. Plus get some new ones that fit with the new movies. They could play on a loop and you don’t know which ride you will get.”

Moving on from Animal Kingdom, several readers brought up the queue line system used by Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Their main beef with the Marvel-based E-Ticket had to do with the ride’s pre-show transition room.

As reader Joyce put it, “… figure a way to deal with the merge line. Timing isn’t always on and then before you merge the group behind comes running in and tries to push by. Need line cutoff to prevent them moving up into hallway.” Holly added, “Everyone runs to the right & they push you away. My family’s been pushed by adults, teens & children. As well as cursed out,” regarding the same pre-show issue.

Instead of specific ride changes, readers Steven and Lorie called for overall ride policy changes regarding communication when rides go down.

The former wrote, “Attractions being down at rope drop. It’s enormously frustrating when, after putting in the effort to get to the attraction at the front, you are faced with a group of cast members telling you that the ride is down,” while the latter shared in a similar vein, “Better communication when an attraction goes down. Do we wait it out? Do we leave the queue just to see the attraction come right back up?”

These are just some of the Disney World ride issues that our readers are demanding! If you’re interested in sharing your thoughts on this, or any other Disney or travel-related topic, follow us on the AllEars Facebook to join in on the next conversation!

  1. How about fix Tianas Bayou Adventure ride both at Disneyland and Disney world. The official ride as is I feel is barebones and boring to ride through, I had to film the ride with Dr facilier and Lawrence action figure on the ride.

They should retheme Tianas Bayou Adventure ride into the princess and the frog splash levee ride. And while the Disney imagineers are at it. Put in more Bayou critters, the spoonbill birds, lady butterflies, a bluebird, Marcel the cat, Stella the dog and add a showboat in the ride.

Also have human characters from the film appear in the ride. Dr facilier and his minion Lawrence with spooky shadow spirits, masks, dolls singing friends on the other side at dropoff. Also put in side characters Reggie, Darnell, two fingers hillbillies, put in Ray firefly, Harvey and Henry fenner bros, Travis, Buford Tianas boss, the 2 police men, the priest be included in the ride.

As for the Bayou animals playing music instruments in the ride, how about letting us know if they came from the circus. Also change the salt mine setting to a levee hill created by Mama Odie.

I hope Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride which took place 2 months before the 1927 Mississippi flood gets rethemed to 1926 the princess and the frog retelling or else this is going to be like Disneys other ride flops superstar limousine, stitches great escape. I’m ready for a ride revision of Tianas Bayou Adventure with more to look at in the ride.
