Ex-Disney World Cast Members Are Sharing the Popular Rides They Never Go On and Why

Walt Disney World’s four theme parks are home to some of the most beloved theme park attractions on earth. From classics like Peter Pan’s Flight, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Haunted Mansion to modern marvels like Rise of the Resistance and Tron: Lightcycle/Run. However, not everyone rides every ride EVERY trip. Not even former Cast Members.

Recently, we spoke to several former Walt Disney World Cast Members on our team about which popular Walt Disney World rides they skip the majority of the time… and why!

Several of these former Cast Members mentioned Slinky Dog Dash, the Toy Story-themed family coaster located in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios. The general consensus was that the ride’s queue was long and unshaded, which made for an uncomfortable experience, especially in the head. On top of that, the ride is relatively short, and the queue is almost always one of the LONGEST waits in all of Disney World.

Similar reasons were expressed for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at the Magic Kingdom, another family coaster that often carries LONG waits for a comparatively short ride time.

Finally, another former Cast Member mentioned Peter Pan’s Flight. Specifically, they said they’d wait up to 30 minutes for the classic dark ride, but that anything more than that was a no-go. Given the ride’s usual wait times, they’re not traveling to Neverland all that often.
