One of EPCOT’s Most Controversial New Additions Is Closed for ANOTHER Transformation

Oh, CommuniCore Hall…you’ve caused quite a stir among Disney fans.

Is that harsh? Maybe just a little bit, but it’s also true. This transformation took years to complete, and many Disney fans are still upset about this new building and its lack of design. We were looking forward to seeing it be used in an intriguing way for EPCOT festivals, but so far, we’ve been left wanting more. But it’s now CLOSED to make way for the new exhibit, and maybe THIS one will blow our socks off.

Now, we’ll be the first to admit that the Gingerbread Spaceship Earth inside CommuniCore Hall during Festival of the Holidays was pretty cool, but that had to do more with the creation itself, not the four walls around it.

The rest of CommuniCore Hall was used for merchandise specific to the festival, and that was about it. We noticed that CommuniCore Hall is now officially closed, and when we asked a Cast Member, we were told that it was closed in preparation for the Festival of the Arts.

This area will be home to a Disney on Broadway art display during the Festival of the Arts, which begins on January 17th. While that sounds great, and we have high hopes it’ll be incredible, we do want to briefly flash back to some of the original concept art for CommuniCore Hall. Was this concept art meant to depict CommuniCore Hall during this upcoming festival?

Will Disney live up to a similar design, but with a Disney on Broadway twist? We certainly hope so, and we’ll be sure to let you know how it looks in a few weeks when this spot reopen its doors.
