Our Jaws DROPPED When We Saw EPCOT's NEW Gingerbread Display 😱

Today is the first day of the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays!

We’re really excited to dive into this year’s festival offerings, including all the food and drinks. We’re also really stoked about the Candlelight Processional, as well as seeing the storytellers around World Showcase telling us about their countries’ holiday traditions. But there’s a NEW addition to the festival this year — and it is EPIC.

Okay, so we’ve already told you about the gingerbread displays at Disney World hotels. A new gingerbread display has turned up in CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT and it’s a model of Spaceship Earth.

This edible display isn’t just pretty to look at, though. It also lights up just like the real Spaceship Earth. It’s got the same lightning scheme!

In fact, its lights do EXACTLY what its larger counterpart’s lights do. There’s a special lighting show every 15 minutes set to music that lasts about three minutes, so the lights on this thing dance and change colors just like the REAL Spaceship Earth’s lights every night. The clock on the front of the display counts down to each show.

So it’s basically a real working model of the real thing — except that it’s edible, which is pretty incredible when you think about it. Isn’t it impressive?

If you visit the nearby Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow, you can actually purchase a gingerbread tile like the ones used for the model.
