How hyped are you for the new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom?

After a long period of speculation, Disney finally confirmed a Villains Land would be coming to Magic Kingdom in the future. Based on the Disney villains, we know this land will be behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and feature two new attractions, dining, and shopping “on an incredibly twisted scale.” As for the specifics, Disney has not revealed anything yet. That doesn’t mean we don’t have ideas about what should come to the land!
We’ve come up with seven ideas that we think would make EXCELLENT additions to the new Villains Land. Some of these ideas are wishful thinking and others are possible inclusions that the fans have been vocally in support of. Either way, we’d be very happy to see these pop up in Magic Kingdom. So, without further ado, let’s jump right in!
Hades Hideaway
When polled in August, 87% of our readers were in favor of brining Hades Hideaway from Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure over to the New Villains Land!

This character interaction features a Disney face character of Hades from Disney’s Hercules amid a super-stylized set. Featuring fun dialogue, mischief, and brilliant shades of blue and red, we can see something like this being a major hit at Magic Kingdom.

Hades Hideaway could also work as a lounge or attraction, thanks to its fun theming. Either way, this seems like an idea most people could get behind.
Villain Character Meet-and-Greets
This next idea is almost certainly going to come to fruition.

Can you really have a Villains Land and not offer villain meet-and-greets? The Disney Parks consistently offer opportunities to meet characters — including villains — on a regular basis, so asking for the appearance of villains in this villain-specific land seems like a very tiny ask.

From villain meet-and-greets that already exist to the possibility of introducing Villains Land-exclusive characters, Disney could have a lot of fun with this concept.
The Emperor’s New Groove Coaster
Disney provided the blueprint in 2000 when it released The Emperor’s New Groove. Now it’s time to pull from the screen to make something tangible and exciting.

There’s a scene in the film where villains Yzma and Kronk head down to her lab in a wild roller coaster ride that makes for an obvious addition to the land and one we’re absolutely begging Disney to build. Imagine an opening sequence with “Pull the lever, Kronk!…Wrong lever!” and then plunging into a high-speed ride. This concept NEEDS to be made into an actual ride!

This has been a popular suggestion for years not just by us, but by the fans as well. We’re hoping something like this coaster idea does happen, as it just makes so much sense.
Mesh Themes
The idea of a roller coaster based on The Emperor’s New Groove lends credence to the idea that not everything villain-themed needs to be dark and moody. In fact, Disney’s pantheon of villains vary in how menacing or comedic they can be.

The diversity of the Disney villains presents an interesting opportunity: the ability to split themes inside the land.

Some parts of the land can be lighthearted while others are dark and scary. The land doesn’t have to be monotonous, and this option could help keep it fresh while offering something for everyone.
A Villans Team-Up Dark Ride
Some fans have been asking for a new dark ride to be included in the new Villains Land. With Disney only promising two new rides, picking which specific IP to base the ride off of is tricky.

Instead of picking a specific character or movie, why not make a villain team-up ride? It could be spooky like the Haunted Mansion but also present an almost jovial vibe to see our favorite villains all together in one ride.

Dark rides have been elevated over the last several years with enhanced animatronics and ride mechanics. Disney could really get creative with an original story while still featuring several Disney bad guys. We would see this as an absolute win.
A Lounge Based on Ursula’s Lair
We’re dying to go under the sea…but this time to the creepier corners where octopus witches like to hang out

When it comes to dining, the possibilities are quite endless. Still, it’s hard to deny how much we’d like to see something based on Ursula’s Lair from The Little Mermaid.

Think of the theming! You’d get a deep-sea ocean theme, potion-themed cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, a fascinating-to-say-the-least menu, and an atmosphere that would make every day feel like Halloween. You could even throw in a giant animatronic of Ursula herself!

There’s a lot to play with here that would also bring an original and exclusive dining experience to Magic Kingdom.
Build a Giant Dragon
Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida has one. Disneyland Paris has one. It’s time to bring a big fire-breathing dragon to Magic Kingdom.

Over the years, Maleficent and Dragon Maleficent have become the icons of Disney villains. It makes a ton of sense, given the menacing aura. So if this Villans Land is going to have a crown jewel, why not have it be Dragon Maleficent?

Over at Disneyland Paris, La Tanière du Dragon (The Lair of the Dragon) is an eerie walk-through attraction located beneath the castle. There’s a castle in the concept art, indicating Magic Kingdom could do something similar. Or Disney could put the dragon front and center like the one at Diagon Alley at Universal.
Either way, a dragon would be a massive draw and an absolute magnet when it comes to selfies and family photos.

All we can do is speculate right now about what is coming to the new Villains Land, but you can count on us to deliver you all the latest updates when more details are revealed! In the meantime, continue to follow us for all the latest Disney World news, tips, reviews, and more!
