Disney CONFIRMS Location for NEW Villains Land Expansion at Magic Kingdom

The biggest Disney news weekend of the year just wrapped up, but Disney isn’t done dropping news bombs!

Disney’s huge fan convention in Anaheim, CA, just wrapped up, and during the Disney Experiences Showcase, we learned that the Villains Land we had all been waiting for is FINALLY coming to Disney World!

Now, this isn’t a “Blue Sky” idea like the ones Disney sometimes shares as possible future projects. Nope. Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro promised us that dirt was already moving on the Villains Land.

Disney announced the villains land will be home to two new attractions, dining, and shopping “on an incredibly twisted scale.” BUT, Disney didn’t tell us where the new land was going — until now!

Disney has spoken before about the possibility of a land “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain,” and now they have confirmed that this is exactly where the villains will live.

There is undeveloped land on that side of Magic Kingdom, and now it will be developed into this new land. IT’S REALLY HAPPENING!

The addition of the Villains Land is part of what Disney is calling the largest Magic Kingdom expansion ever — Disney has also announced two new Cars attractions coming to Frontierland. And we’ve learned today that the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island will be transformed into this new Cars Land.

We expect to see work happening on these new lands pretty quickly, based on what D’Amaro said this weekend. Keep following AllEars for all the Disney World news!

  1. Based on the map you show, between filling in Rivers of America to build a Cars land & the space designated for the Villians land, MK looks to become as hot and stifling as Animal Kingdom. There is no air circulation back in Tommowland & now it appears Disney is creating the same problem in the frontierland area by removing open spaces & building up all around it.
