What should you expect when it comes to the crowds in Disney World this year? Will things be super hectic? Could things be a bit emptier at certain times? We’ve got some interesting things for you to know.

On May 7th, Disney held its earnings call and released its earnings report for the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 2025. Disney shared some important updates about the financial status of its theme parks, Disney+, the company as a whole, ESPN, and more. But Disney also made some interesting comments about their expectations for crowds in the parks. Here’s what you need to know.
For context, Disney has made quite a few comments in recent months about expected crowds in the parks for 2025. Back at the earnings call for the 4th quarter of fiscal year 2024, Disney noted that bookings were looking strong for the back half of 2025, particularly the holiday season.
Then, during the Q1 earnings call for fiscal year 2025, Disney shared that bookings were up for the summer of 2025 and that the outlook is good and the company is feeling positive.

That brings us up to Q2 of fiscal year 2025. During the earnings call for this period, Disney noted “increases in passenger cruise days, theme park attendance, occupied room nights, and Disney Vacation Club unit sales.”
In the domestic parks, there was a 9% increase in sales compared to the same time period (Quarter 2) last year.

Disney also said there was “an increase in guest spending due to higher spending at our theme parks.” We’ve been tracking ticket and food prices across the park, and we’ve seen increases almost everywhere. In 2019, an adult dinner at a prix fixe restaurant was $55, and in 2025, it’s $72. That’s a 31% increase over six years.
Operating income has also increased; across domestic and international parks and consumer products, there was a 9% increase. Disney says the increased costs are “primarily attributable to the fleet expansion at Disney Cruise Line and inflation.”

A number of big changes are on the way for the Disney theme parks, especially Walt Disney World. In 2025 alone, Disney World is set to get a new nighttime parade, a revamped version of Test Track, 2 new shows at Hollywood Studios, various special summer offerings, a new adults-only lounge in EPCOT, and MORE.
How much will those new additions, plus the official opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe theme park, impact crowds this year? We’ll have to wait and see. We’re in the parks constantly, searching for the latest news, crowd updates, and more — so stay tuned for ALL the updates.
