Oh, EPCOT.… why do you seem to be a hot topic lately?

Between all of the construction, new meet and greets, and choosing which festival is the best time to visit EPCOT can either be a Disney World park that brings everyone together or divides us all. Get ready because we’ve got an opinion that could start a heated debate.
It almost seems like an impossible decision, right?! I mean, who really picks a favorite EPCOT pavilion around the World Showcase? It’s almost like being asked to choose your favorite child.

They’re each appreciated in their own style and flavor depending on what appeals to you most that day, but if we had our backs against the wall and really had to choose, Japan has won us over.

Not convinced? That’s ok — we’ll lay out our argument for it right now.
Food
Let’s start with our primary reason for not skipping this pavilion — the food! There are several great choices to pick from here that it’s hard to go wrong.

Upstairs above the Mitsukoshi store, you’ll find a choice of either Teppan Edo (hibachi style grill)…

… or their newest restaurant, Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya offers a wide variety of sushi and up-scale dining options of Japanese cuisine.

Either of these options offers great eats with fantastic dining experiences that make it all a seamless dining choice.
Stores
We briefly mentioned it earlier but Mitsukoshi is the store for everything you didn’t know you needed. They have everything from collectible figures…

… to characters…

… to pearls, you can pick yourself and have set into jewelry.

Occasionally, inside the store, they’ll have a small display set up for seasonal celebrations or Japanese-culture-centered events.
Walkability
This pavilion is easy to hang around because of its walkability. It’s not quite the middle of the World Showcase, but it’s close. The boat transportation across the World Showcase that operates during the day is just one pavilion over in one direction…

… while the opposite direction will take you directly to the American Adventure and American Gardens Theater…

….making it a very quick walk to attend the festival concerts and candlelight processional performances.
Views
If you find yourself walking the World Showcase at night in search of one of the best places to watch the nightly fireworks, trust us it’s hard to beat the views here.

Whether you plan to watch from the ground or head up the stairs to watch from the second floor outside of the restaurants there really isn’t a bad place to be around here if you’re looking to take it all in.

Oh, and it’s a great place to impress your friends if you can stack dinner by a window seat AND the fireworks that night at Shiki-Sai!
