Watch out for some temporary ride and attraction CLOSURES in Disney World.

To help you prepare for your upcoming trip and avoid the disappointing surprises that come with unexpected ride closures, check out this list of all the pre-scheduled closures that will affect the Disney World parks and hotels from August 27th through September 2nd.
Magic Kingdom Closures
Liberty Square Riverboat
The Liberty Square Riverboat has been closed since August 21st.

This attraction closed around the same time last year, so this seems to be a regularly scheduled refurbishment. Luckily, the Riverboat is going to reopen this week, on August 30th!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Splash Mountain closed on January 23rd, and it’ll remain closed until late 2024.

Disney is re-theming the ride to give it a Princess and the Frog theme. When it reopens, it’ll be called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

On a recent trip, we spotted the new “Tiana’s Foods” water tower up in front of the ride. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates.

Barrel Bridge at Tom Sawyer Island
Over on Tom Sawyer Island, the barrel bridge is currently closed. In fact, it’s missing completely!

A Cast Member told us that the bridge had been removed for refurbishments, and they’re not sure when it might be back.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closures
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
This stage show about The Little Mermaid has been closed for a long time in Hollywood Studios.

Disney hasn’t announced when or if the show will reopen.
Hollywood Studios had a ROUGH day recently.
Disney World Hotel Refurbishments
There’s a big construction project happening at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, as a new DVC tower is being built. You might see or hear construction if you’re staying at that hotel.

Over at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, some of the guest rooms are being updated, and the lobby is also getting a refresh.

Also, there are a couple of NEW restaurants coming to the BoardWalk: The Cake Bake Shop and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs.
A CLOSURE was announced for one of the most popular Disney World hotel pools.
Disney Water Park Refurbishments
Disney’s Blizzard Beach
Disney World’s Blizzard Beach Water Park has closed for refurbishments. Disney hasn’t announced how long this closure will last.

Typhoon Lagoon — Disney World’s other water park — is currently open.
Learn more about Typhoon Lagoon here.
