We’ve had some pretty exciting announcements from Disney lately!

We got our first look at the food coming to Summer House on the Lake in Disney Springs, learned about special experiences coming to Animal Kingdom for its 25th Anniversary, and got some character meet-and-greet news that has us feeling seriously nostalgic. Plus, Disney shared new details and a sneak peek of changes coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure this summer!
Disney has wasted no time getting started on the construction for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and we’ve been keeping up with all the changes we can spot from behind those pesky construction walls, but Disney shared new details about this upcoming attraction with us.

We knew that the retheme of this ride would include a ton of new elements all about the Princess and the Frog story after it ends, including nods to Tiana’s Foods — her company which now controls the “salt dome,” or the mountain.
In this model we saw at the D23 Expo, we got a glimpse at the tiara-topped water tower that would be installed at the ride…

…and Disney has shared we can expect to see it in all its glory later this summer! They shared this concept art showing it being installed all the way back in 1927, when the story takes place.

Disney also shared a video talking about the inspiration and the tiara-topped tower.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure picks up after the end of The Princess and The Frog, where Tiana has successfully opened her restaurant, Tiana’s Palace. The story of this new ride starts in the queue, where guests learn that Tiana has also started Tiana’s Foods, an employee-owned cooperative. By combining her talents with the community’s, they’ve turned an old salt mine into a beloved brand.
Tiana purchased the salt mine and the large salt dome it operated from, and with the help of her mother Eudora, Naveen, Louis, and fellow owners of the cooperative, she began to grow vegetables, spices, and herbs for her recipes on the revived land.

We can’t wait to see this new addition come to Magic Kingdom, and will be keeping an eye on all the latest changes and updates — so stay tuned to AllEars for more!
