There are a few ways to visit Disney World after closing time, when you typically get the chance to deal with lower crowds and shorter wait times.

One such way to visit late is through the Moonlight Magic Disney Vacation Club (DVC) event, which hasn’t been offered for some time now. But last night it returned to EPCOT, and we have all the details!
In case you didn’t know, Moonlight Magic is a special event for DVC Members, when they can visit a Disney Park after hours with complimentary admission. In the past, this meant shorter wait times for select open attractions, special character meet-and-greets, entertainment, and complimentary treats.

Last night, Moonlight Magic was held at EPCOT from 10PM to 1AM, and you CAN visit the park before the event begins as long as you have admission and a park pass reservation. At check-in, we received an info sheet outlining the entertainment, characters, and open attractions during the event.

This info sheet also explained the “Delectable Delight vouchers” we received when we checked into the event, which we’ll explain more in a second. The event included Mickey Ice Cream Bars and Strawberry Fruit Bars as complimentary and unlimited treats, which could be found at ice cream carts near Creations Shop and the Imagination pavilion.

Each guest received three “Snack Certificates,” also known as vouchers, to redeem for their choice of drink or snack such as bottled drinks, sodas, Powerade, or treats like Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches. You also had to redeem one voucher to receive the exclusive popcorn bucket.

We found that the line for the popcorn bucket was REALLY long, which means we spent quite a bit of the event standing in line just to get the bucket. We wish the popcorn buckets could have been handed out at check-in, rather than expecting guests to spend so much time in line. Overall, snack lines were long throughout the event.

The World Showcase was not fully open, although select rides like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Frozen Ever After were open. There were also characters in a few areas and some live entertainment in Canada.

You can check your voucher for open snack spots, and we did see that Kringla Bakeri og Kafe and Sunshine Seasons were open, although Sunshine Seasons was mostly out of snacks by the time we got there.

Disney Villains were at the event for modified character meet-and-greets, and we saw Pain and Panic from Hercules…

…Honest John and Gideon from Pinocchio…

…Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas…

…and the Evil Queen from Snow White. From a distance, we also saw the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, as well as Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella from Cinderella.

During the event, the DVC Moonlight Magic logo was lit on the barges that are used for the Harmonious nighttime spectacular, and at 11PM and 12AM the “Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Moment” occurred.

During the Welcome Home Moment, the water features on the Harmonious barges were turned on for a fun display on the World Showcase Lagoon.

There are more Moonlight Magic events scheduled for the near future (at different Disney Parks!), and DVC Members who are staying at a Disney hotel during an event should automatically get an email to register. If not, you can register at a later date on the DVC website. Since this is a complimentary event, registration tends to fill up fast!

You HAVE to be a Disney Vacation Club Member to register, and you must have your DVC card at check-in. Don’t wait too long to register if you’re interested in attending Moonlight Magic, and stay tuned for more Disney news!
