Mickey Mouse Fans Will LOVE This Detail Inside EPCOT's Creations Shop

In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a LOT going on at EPCOT these days. With Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure beginning previews and Space 220 just weeks from opening, it’s a pretty exciting time to visit!

Another new addition coming soon to EPCOT is Creations Shop, the new shopping experience that will take the place of Mouse Gear. While we wait for this new shop to open, Imagineer Zach Riddley has been providing sneak peeks at some of the details of the store on his Instagram account!

Today, Imagineer Zach Riddley shared a first look at one of the murals that guests will be able to see when visiting Creations Shop:

Zach Riddley shared in his post that the driving idea behind Creations Shop is “a place dedicated to creative inspiration and commemoration that comes from the wonderful souvenirs we collect to mark our experiences.” This is inspired by the idea that EPCOT as a park is filled with “original art and artifacts installed through the park that tells OUR story – of history and wonder and curiosity.”

The muse behind this creativity is, of course, Mickey Mouse! The title of the mural featured in Zach Riddley’s Instagram post is “Mouse in Motion.” It spans over 35 feet and is located in a position where guests can admire it from every corner of the shop.

Using print, media, and street art as graphic inspiration, the mural depicts Mickey “in dynamic poses through a prism of colors,” and “in a moment of movement and energy.” Zach Riddley also pointed out that “Mickey is proudly carrying a pennant emblazed with the EPCOT logo, one of many nods to our past captured through our design.”

We’ve loved seeing these details shared throughout the construction phase of Creations Shop — we can’t wait to check out this mural, along with all of the other details, in person when the store opens! While Disney hasn’t announced an opening date, we’ll be sure to let you know the moment we learn more!
