We’re back in Disney World and enjoying a day with lighter crowds!

It seems that the holiday crowds have cleared and we’re left with some pretty empty parks. Today we stumbled upon some short wait times and it was surprisingly easy to get a spot on one of Disney’s most popular rides.
EPCOT
When we first got to the park, we were welcomed by some wide open space. As we walked back to World Showcase, we noticed that the line for the Festival of the Arts paint by the number mural was shorter than normal.

During busy times, the line spans across the walkway, with Cast Members moving guests from line to line, but there was no need for that today! The general lack of crowds continued over to some popular attractions like Frozen Ever After.

The Norway Pavilion felt empty compared to the holiday crowds and the ride for its hit attraction was as low as 10 minutes! AND, even the thrill rides at EPCOT like Test Track had short waits.

The longest wait of the day for Test Track was 45 minutes, and it even dropped down to 30 minutes in the afternoon! The crowds were so thin that we thought maybe we’d missed the memo and another park was filled with everyone.
Hollywood Studios
But, crowds were also sparse over at Hollywood Studios! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge tends to be the most crowded area in the park. EVERYONE wants to travel to Batuu! But today there weren’t many galactic travelers. There was little to no wait for the stores and…

…perhaps the BIGGEST surprise was the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance. Boarding Groups are distributed only twice per day and it can be REALLY hard to snag a spot. The virtual queue normally fills up in SECONDS. But, today the virtual queue opened at 2PM and stayed open for a few more minutes…and then more…and more!

We kept checking and the virtual queue was open for more than an hour and a half, finally closing at 2:45PM. We share lots of tips on how to be sure you get to ride this popular attraction, and we’re going to have to add going in the off-season to the list!

As we head into the less holiday-filled season we’ll be sure to keep an eye on the crowd levels we find in Disney World!
Is it FINALLY getting easier to snag a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance?
