Disney World hotels are constantly changing, but not always in the ways that people WANT.

We’ve seen many a room refurbishment, a lobby update, or a dining addition at the Disney resorts over the years, but there are plenty of other problems that fans want solved. So we took to Facebook to ask our followers about the changes they’d like Disney World to make to its hotels!
We posted a query on our Facebook page, asking, “What are some glaring problems at Disney World hotels that need to be fixed ASAP?” And you guys? We got over 300 comments with different suggestions!
You folks were mighty passionate about the changes you want to see on your next Disney World trip, so let’s break down some of the most common answers!
Toilet Paper
By far the biggest complaint from our readers is that the toilet paper in the Disney World hotel bathrooms is AWFUL. It’s thin and wispy and does not help very much to keep you feeling fresh. One person said, “The toilet paper could use an upgrade everywhere.”

However, after dozens of comments about the toilet paper, we also got a few comments from people noting that the reason Disney toilet paper is so terrible is that it HAS to be. With as many people flushing the toilets at once as there are at any given Disney hotel, a fancier TP might wreck the sewage system.
More Coffee Bars
Another common complaint is that not all hotels have coffee bars, and that there should be more coffee options for those who want a solid caffeine fix. Of the Disney-owned hotels on property, only SIX of them have this perk. (There are seven if you count the fact that you can get coffee at Scat Cat’s Club — Cafe at Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter.)

While all the quick service restaurants offer some form of coffee during breakfast time, it’s not the same as getting to customize your morning cup of joe to your liking. And if you’re not a fan of the in-room coffee options, you might be stuck waiting until you get to the parks to snag a Joffrey’s or Starbucks coffee. One of our followers said they think there should be a Joffrey’s coffee bar at every hotel!

Consequently, if this is important to you, the six hotels that currently have coffee bars are the Polynesian Village Resort, Riviera Resort, Contemporary Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort (Joffrey’s stand by the Skyliner station), Coronado Springs Resort (this hotel actually has TWO!), and BoardWalk Inn.
Extended Hours for Quick Service Dining
Speaking of food and beverage, many of our followers had complaints about the dining hours for quick service restaurants. One reader said the following: “So I would say, not just deluxe, but on event nights like Mickey’s Very Merry or Jollywood Nights, quick service in your hotels should at least stay open till maybe an hour after the park closes and offer things that may not be just cookies or something sweet.”

Many other people had the same complaint, noting that when they came back from the parks late at night, there were no food options available at the hotel. What about those who want to enjoy Extended Evening Hours or go to an After Hours event? Those people may need a late-night snack!

Conversely, some other followers noted that the food courts and quick service restaurants weren’t open early enough for the rope drop crowd. If you’re planning to be at Animal Kingdom at the crack of dawn for Early Theme Park Entry, you may not have the option to dine at your hotel before you leave. Then, of course, you don’t have the chance to grab breakfast until after you’ve enjoyed the first few rides of the day. That’s a long time to wait!
Mini Fridges Instead of Beverage Coolers
Okay, here’s a hot topic! For most of the Disney World hotels, the “fridge” option in the hotel room isn’t actually a fridge at all…it’s a beverage cooler! This means that it doesn’t run as cold as an actual refrigerator. While it may be good at keeping your leftovers and beverages chilled, it’s not cold enough to be a safe temperature for some items.

Disney World’s website actually notes that beverage coolers are “not suitable to store medication that requires refrigeration,” and other people have noted problems with storing things like breast milk and formula. One reader said, “My biggest issue is the beverage coolers. Whoever chose to put them in a place where the majority of rooms have young children staying needs to go! Babies/kids need milk, special formula, meds, baby food, etc, which all need refrigeration. People with allergies or medical issues need to be able to store safe foods and medicines.”
Package Delivery
Ahh, we do miss the days several years ago when you could purchase a souvenir in the parks and not have to carry it around with you all day long! Disney World used to offer package delivery to your resort, but sadly, that is no longer.

One person shared, “I don’t think it’s the hotel’s fault, but can we please start sending our packages back to our room? I spent so much more money when that was an option!”
Better Perks for Deluxe Resorts
One comment that came in a few different varieties is that those staying at Deluxe Resorts want better perks! If you’re shelling out the money to stay at one of Disney’s nicest hotels, then it makes sense that the experience should be a bit elevated. A major complaint was that some of the Deluxe Resorts have to share buses, meaning that transportation takes longer than it should (think Yacht Club, Beach Club, and BoardWalk; Grand Floridian and Polynesian Village; or Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary).

Fans also wish Disney would offer more Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe guests — currently, they’re only offered two nights a week at specific parks. But one of the more intriguing suggestions came from a follower who said they think Deluxe Resort guests should get some kind of Lightning Lane perk included with their stay. Maybe a free Lightning Lane Single Pass each day or a couple of Multi Pass selections, complimentary to book?
I’m Not In One Right Now!
An answer we can all relate to? Many people said the main problem with Disney hotels is that they’re not staying in one currently! We can totally understand those post-Disney blues, you guys.

Honestly, the best thing about Disney World hotels is that they’re IN Disney World. When you’re staying in one, you’re visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth, and that’s special in and of itself.
