3 Things Disney Adults Wish You’d Stop Doing on the Boat to Magic Kingdom

Ferry service to and from the Magic Kingdom is one of Walt Disney World’s oldest — and most unique — transportation methods. However, there are some boat behaviors that guests really need to knock off.

Magic Kingdom Ferry

Ferry Service between the Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center has been an integral part of the Walt Disney World transportation apparatus since the resort opened back in 1971, and remains one of the key ways guests make the journey today.

Messing Around Near the Railings

Whether leaning over the railings themselves, or holding their children aloft/sitting them on top of the railing,/etc, way too many guests seem comfortable playing around near the ferry’s edge. Trust us, no good can come from falling into the 14-foot deep waters of the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Running to Get On and Off the Boat

Look, whether it’s the excitement of heading to the Magic Kingdom for the day or the desire to get back to one’s hotel room after a long day, we get the desire to get onto the ferry as quickly as possible. But please, don’t run. It just creates a dangerous situation for everyone involved, which could — ironically enough — end up delaying the craft’s departure.

Don’t Stop in the Middle

Related, when boarding — especially during BUSY times like the early morning or the end of the night — try to avoid stopping in the middle and not moving all the way to the other side of the boat. It just increases crowds, and again, delays boarding. (Though of course, this doesn’t apply to those who need to sit in the middle benches for physical reasons).
