Y’all, throw away those 3D glasses because Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure just got a makeover! Disney announced that the ride in EPCOT’s France Pavilion would be getting updates to its sound and lighting, as well as the addition of new props, but the biggest change is that it’s switching to 2D.

The ride was closed from November 10th to 13th, and we were there to see all the changes to the attraction when it reopened on the 14th!
First, let’s talk about these crowds. There’s always a large group of people coming in when something is new, and this was no different. In terms of wait times, we initially saw a 95 (!!) minute wait time posted when we arrived at rope drop. However, the line moved quickly, and we made it on to the ride in about 1/3rd the posted time.

Then onto the queue! Some new parts we noticed were minimal so far. The former 3D glasses pickup are has been sealed off, but other than that everything looked status quo. From there, we hopped on our rat!
The ride experience itself was the same. We didn’t notice any drop off in image quality from 3D to 2D, with the image still looking just as crisp, and well integrated with the ride’s physical sets and props.

One difference we DID notice? One of our team members who often felt motion sick after riding the 3D version of the attraction said they felt NO symptoms this time. So, if you’ve been avoiding the ride for potential motion sickness reasons, it may be time to give it another (or a first) shot!

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure isn’t the only ride going through changes. Frozen Ever After is getting new faces on its animatronics! They will look similar to the ones we saw at Hong Kong Disneyland, which look more like the movie. This change will come early in 2026, and we’re SO excited that all of our favorite rides are getting some updates.
