AllEars Quincy has flown through Orlando International Airport (MCO) more times than we can count, and she’s revealing some of her BEST tips!

Quincy has traveled all over the world and has accumulated enough experience to easily qualify her as an airport expert. Through her travels — specifically at MCO — Quincy has picked up some important airport security tips, which she’s sharing with everyone!
We talked with Quincy, and first and foremost, she wanted it known how important it is to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight — especially if it’s an early one.

The longest wait times are often prior to 4 PM — and remember, TSA PreCheck isn’t open super early or late. That means security lines can get pretty long, so you want to afford yourself as much time as possible.

Speaking of TSA PreCheck, don’t forget to use it if you have it! You can apply for this paid skip-the-line program online through the TSA website and enroll in person. By having this perk, you’ll skip the long lines and avoid hassles like removing articles of clothing or taking electronics out of your bags during your security screening. It literally saves so much time and stress.

Other tips she divulged included having your electronics accessible in your bag. Burying your laptop beneath a bunch of stuff just complicates the security process. You want to be able to slide that bad boy out easily and put it back in just as easily.
Ultimately, if you know you gotta take something out of your bag, make sure it’s actually easy to remove when you’re packing it.

One secret Quincy wanted to make sure you knew was that if you see the canines out, use the canine side.
The lines with these trained dogs tend to move a bit faster, at least in her experience. So if you spot them, work your way over there.

It also goes without saying, but DO NOT go to the wrong side when going through security — dogs be darned. Check the gate numbers above the security line before you enter, or risk an embarrassing gaffe.

However, the BIGGEST and BEST tip Quincy wanted you to know is to use MCO Reserve.
MCO Reserve is a free virtual queuing service at MCO that allows travelers to book a specific time to go through the TSA security line — no TSA PreCheck or CLEAR required. Passengers can reserve a spot up to seven days in advance via the MCO Reserve website and receive a QR code that will let them access a shorter security lane. The service is for flights departing between 6:30 AM and 8:30 PM.

And there you have it! Next time you travel through MCO, remember these secrets and get through security with ease.
