The Dates You Need to Know for 2026 in Walt Disney World

We’re already planning our 2026 Disney World trips!

There are lots of closures, changes, and more that we’re already preparing for. That’s why we’re breaking down everything you need to know right here!

We get it, 2025 isn’t even over yet! That being said, we’re chronic overplanners and we like it that way. We’ve been going to the Disney parks our entire lives, so we know what to expect as each year rolls around. Enough chit chat, let’s dive into 2026.

January

• runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend: runs from January 7th – 11th
• Festival of the Arts: begins on January 16th
• Kids Eat Free on the Disney Dining Plan begins
• All-Star Pool Closure begins in January and goes through late April 2026

February

• Last day to ride DINOSAUR before permanent closure: February 1st
• DINOLAND U.S.A. permanent closure: February 2nd, making February 1st last day to experience remaining ride and restaurant to make way for Pueblo Esperanza
• runDisney Princess Marathon: February 26th until March 2nd
• EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts: will end on February 23rd
• President’s Day: February 16th

• Closing Date for Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster featuring Aerosmith: March 2nd, making March 1st the last day in operation
• EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival: will begin March 4th
• St. Patrick’s Day: March 17th

April

•  runDisney Spring Time Surprise: happens between April 16th – 20th
• Disney Dreamers Academy at Disney World
• Easter: April 5th
• Earth Day: April 22nd

May

• Dapper Day Spring Outing: May 2nd at EPCOT, and May 3rd at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
• May the 4th in Hollywood Studios: May 4th
• Memorial Day: May 25th, 2026
• Free Water Park Perk returns in Summer 2026
• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is being taken over by the Muppets reopens in Summer 2026
• Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is reopening in Spring 2026
• Big Thunder Mountain will finally reopen after a year-long closure in Spring 2026

June

• The Flavors of Florida event will begin!
• EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival will end on June 1st

July

• July 4th celebrations in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom

August

• Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will kick off
• EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival will begin

September

• Labor Day Weekend: September 4th – 7th

October

• runDisney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend (most likely)

November

• Holidays begin in Disney World
• Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will kick off
• Jollywood Nights begins
• Mickey and Minnie’s Birthday: November 18th
• Thanksgiving: November 26th
• EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays: starts around November 27th (probably)

December

• Christmas Eve: 24th
• Christmas Day: 25th
• New Year’s Eve Events: 30th (Magic Kingdom fireworks only) and 31st

Unknown Dates

There are so many changes coming in 2026, but we don’t know the dates for them just yet!

• Additional EPCOT Festivals beginning and ending dates 
• Construction continues on Monsters, Inc. Land
• Construction continues on Villains Land
• Construction continues on Piston Peak
