We Have an UPDATE on Disney World's NEW Tomorrowland Construction

Disney World has LOTS of construction going on right now, especially in Magic Kingdom!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed for the entirety of 2025 as it goes under refurbishment. Villains Land construction is underway in the area behind Big Thunder (we think — Disney is keeping the project a secret for now), and Astro Orbiter has been under construction nearly all year as well. However, that’s changing now — new construction is HERE at Magic Kingdom!

When we stepped into Tomorrowland recently, we noticed that the construction walls were back up!

Sure enough, Disney appears to be reinstalling the Astro Orbiter attraction.

At this time, there’s no reopening timeline for the attraction, but Disney’s calendar currently still has it closed for the entirety of June.

We’re really looking forward to seeing each and every piece make its way back into place as the construction continues.

Disney has not confirmed what (if anything) will change when the ride reopens, but we’re keeping our eyes out for updates. It’s nice to see construction progress — big or small — in Tomorrowland. We’re ready for this land to look nice and refreshed!
