A BIG change is happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in just a few more days!

Disney World is gearing up to bring us two never-before-seen shows to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the anticipation is about to make us burst. If you’ve been following our updates for each of the shows, then you know that the opening day is not too far off, and this is your reminder to get to the park early if you want to see them!
It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for some big updates to finally debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and soon they’ll finally be here!

Just weeks ago, Disney World confirmed details of when we can expect to see two new shows popping up around the park in Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure. Both of these shows will be brand-new to Disney World, even though they might be found in a few familiar locations.

Previously, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, which was found in Animation Courtyard, ran for several decades of performances retelling the popular story of Ariel and her friends from the animated classic movie. However, when Disney World closed due to the pandemic, this show never seemed to recover when the parks reopened, and eventually, a new version of the show was announced to be taking its place.

Since its initial announcement, we’ve scoured for news and evidence of what will await us in this upcoming show. Although the location for the new show will be the same as its previous version, Disney has teased new elements coming to this musical, including all-new puppets, stage sets, and even a few never-before-seen characters added!

Disney also recently updated their My Disney Experience app to reflect a range of showtimes for each day’s performances, and newly installed line queue signs suggested that this show will also be worked into existing Lightning Lane options.

Turning our attentions in a darker direction down Sunset Boulevard, the recently closed Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy has been rapidly transformed into the new home for Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After!

When Disney initially teased this show, it seemed the entire theater would surround you with dozens of your favorite Disney Villains, and it seems the show still aims to make good on that promise.

While we’ve learned a little bit about the storyline of what to expect and seen a few pieces of concept art, there’s still a lot we’ve got left to learn about this groundbreaking show.

Recently, Disney World also reflected daily showtimes in the My Disney Experience app, which shocked us when we learned how often we could catch a performance (or two) each day.

Both shows will debut in the park beginning May 27th, and they’re already proving they could be the talk of the park for a while! If you’re planning on attending one of the performances over the show’s first few days (and possibly even months), we’d expect big crowds and suggest arriving for your preferred showtime early if it’s a priority for your day’s plans.
If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!
We’ll be bringing you along for the first day of performances of each show debuting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Be sure to stay tuned with us, right here, at AllEars to see it all.
