We Just Went Inside Universal's First-of-Its-Kind Epic Universe Hotel. Here Are 4 Things That Caught Us off Guard.

We finally got a chance to explore Epic Universe and all it has to offer, and WOW do we have a lot to talk about!

One of the first new additions we got to see is Helios Grand Hotel, the hotel located INSIDE Epic Universe. We spent months analyzing concept art and knew what to expect, but there were still some aspects of this gorgeous hotel that caught us off guard.

The Wi-Fi

This sounds silly, but when you’re sending as many photos and videos as we were on our short time in the hotel, it’s important to have the best Wi-Fi possible. Often, the Wi-Fi in both the Universal parks and hotels and Disney World parks and hotels can be pretty slow, so we were expecting to have a similar experience.

Now, maybe it was because this hotel wasn’t packed with people, but our Wi-Fi speeds were FLYING! This gives us hope that it’ll continue to be high-speed when there are hundreds of people using it at one time, but only time will tell. Speedy Wi-Fi can be SUPER handy, even if you aren’t working from the hotel.

The Lobby

The floor-to-ceiling window and balcony that look out over Epic Universe in the lobby are STUN.NING. (they will truly take your breath away for a moment). But, we will be the first to admit that the lobby itself was a little…underwhelming.

It was smaller than what we were expecting based on the concept art we had seen; nonetheless, it gets a pass from us since that view is basically its own decoration.

Bar Helios

What we really weren’t expecting was just how much we would LOVE the bar, Bar Helios. Not only do you have the stunning views of the park right next to you…

…but you can also look up and see this AMAZING dome with stars and astrological signs right above your head, and your jaw just drops.

We could have continued to stare at it for another ten minutes, honestly.

Even if you don’t drink, make sure you stop over here to take in the beauty of this location.

The POOL

We found the BEST pool at any Universal Orlando resort hotel here, and that was not on our bingo card. But we found ourselves truly shocked by how much this pool exceeded our expectations.

Not only is the pool massive, winding around the entire pool deck, but there’s tons of comfy seating all around. If you’re looking for a drink or snack during your pool time, you can head to Lotus Lagoon, which is right in the center and is beautiful.

We can’t forget about the hot tub! While this isn’t nearly as large as the pool and won’t accommodate a lot of people, the weather is HOT most of the time, so this doesn’t shock us.
