“I WOULD Kiss Dracula on the Mouth.” – Let’s Talk About Monsters Unchained at Epic Universe

We got to go INSIDE Epic Universe, and there are so many details we’re obsessed with in the new theme park.

Dark Universe

From carts jumping the track at Super Nintendo World and ice-breathing dragons at Isle of Berk to hidden secrets for every Harry Potter fan at the Ministry of Magic (not to mention the beautiful greenery at Celestial Park), Epic Universe is something I’m going to be talking about for years. What really blew me away, though, were the details in Dark Universe.

Dark Universe’s most terrifying attraction is Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, which has state-of-the-art animatronics that had me SCREAMING.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD FOR MONSTERS UNCHAINED: THE FRANKENSTEIN EXPERIMENT

Boo!

Of course, the monsters were just plain scary thanks to all the jump scares during the ride, but there were also so many details on these creatures.

So many details to discover

During the preshow, Dr. Victoria Frankenstein talks to her guests as her monster comes out. He’s HUGE.

He’s alive!

He walks around and interacts with other characters, and he looks so lifelike. I knew it was an animatronic, but I still wondered if Universal pulled a fast one on us and used a live actor.

After the monsters break loose from Dr. Frankenstein, they are scattered throughout the manor, and you’re going to come face-to-face with them — no, really, they’re going to feel close!

Hop on!

There are many animatronics throughout the ride, and I saw classic monsters like the Creature from the Black Lagoon, who reached out at us, and the Wolfman, who looked like he was eating the other experiments. *shivers*

The way they move is so fluid that they look real, which makes them scarier! They even move fast, and we have no idea how Universal did it.

Experiments are happening

We came face-to-face with a mummy reaching out at us, and this was a real jaw-dropping moment when you see it.

Things are about to get spooky

Dracula is the real monster behind the chaos since he let everyone lose, but I gotta say, I think Universal might have made him too fine. Like, I kinda want to kiss him, fine. I’m a tad obsessed. I even convinced my team to make a t-shirt about it — yes, really.

Throughout the ride, you might notice that Dracula is barefoot, and yes, it’s for a reason. The story goes that while Dr. Frankenstein was attempting to capture and control Dracula, she took his boots to humiliate him in front of the other monster prisoners. Universal really left nothing out!

He’s seven or eight feet tall and looks so big in front of you! After you get a chance to ride this when it opens to the public on May 22nd, you need to come back here and tell us your thoughts on the ride (…and Dracula) because it was incredible.

I love Dark Universe!

Dark Universe was the land I was looking forward to the most, and it has the monster lover in me obsessed. Just walking around the land, I found there were so many details to discover, and I’m already trying to figure out how I can come back again.

I’m going to be dreaming about Dracula, but in the meantime, make sure you’re following AllEars for the best Epic Universe content.
