4 Awkward and Outrageous Things I Overheard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney World is a magical place, but sometimes the things you overhear in the parks can be even more entertaining than the attractions themselves.

Between the sheer size of the resort and the intense level of detail Disney puts into its theming, it’s easy to get a little confused. But some guests take it to a whole new level with questions and statements that leave the rest of us doing a double take. If you’re heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios soon, be prepared – you just might hear something as wild as these gems!

“Where’s Hogwarts?”

Let’s just start with the big one. Hollywood Studios has a lot to offer – Star Wars, classic movies, and even a tribute to old-school Hollywood glamour – but you know what it doesn’t have? A certain famous wizarding school.

Yet somehow, you’ll still hear guests wondering when they’re going to stumble upon Hogwarts. Spoiler alert: That’s over at Universal Orlando. If you’re in Hollywood Studios looking for butterbeer and wands, you’ve made a wrong turn.

“I wonder how much it costs to stay in that hotel?” (Pointing at Tower of Terror)

To be fair, the Tower of Terror does look like an ominously luxurious hotel, but one quick glance at the ride sign should give away that it’s…well, not exactly the kind of place you’d want to book for a night. Still, it doesn’t stop people from asking about room rates.

And honestly, given Disney’s hotel prices these days, some folks might not even blink if they were told they had to check in via a haunted elevator ride.

“Is that a real hotel?”

On that same note, there’s always that one person who stares at the Tower of Terror and wonders if it’s an actual operating hotel.

Sure, Disney is all about immersion, but if you really think they’re letting guests stay in a place where the lobby is covered in cobwebs and bellhops are permanently trapped in the Twilight Zone…maybe take a closer look at that park map.

“Watch this! ‘Andy’s coming!!!’” (silence)

Once upon a time, there was a popular rumor that if you yelled “Andy’s coming!” in Toy Story Land, the characters would freeze in place just like in the movies.

Disney quickly put an end to that (because let’s be real, it would get out of hand fast), but that doesn’t stop people from trying. Unfortunately, these days, the only reaction they’ll get is maybe a confused glance from Woody and a side-eye from Buzz Lightyear.

“Where’s the castle?”

Every Disney park has an icon – EPCOT has Spaceship Earth, Animal Kingdom has the Tree of Life, and Hollywood Studios has… well, a few different contenders over the years. But Cinderella Castle? Well, that’s Magic Kingdom territory.

Time and time again, you’ll hear people wandering around Hollywood Studios looking for the castle, completely baffled as to why they can’t find it. If you’re lost, just remember: If you’re seeing stormtroopers and giant movie props, you’re not in the right place.

Disney is always full of surprises, and sometimes the funniest moments come from the guests themselves. Whether it’s a simple mix-up or a truly outrageous question, these overheard conversations are all just a part of the magic.
