The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is getting a HUGE expansion and renovation!
The hotel just announced its largest-ever renovation and expansion of the property adding thousands of square feet of meeting space and refreshing guest rooms.
The project will invest $275 million into the meeting spaces and guest rooms over the next few years. In addition to adding thousands of square feet of meeting space, the hotel will also be remodeling all of the guest rooms at the Walt Disney World Swan.
The expansion will include an additional 120,000 square feet of event space, bringing the total event space to 469,000 square feet between the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve. This is the first expansion since 2003, and it will include a new two-story annex.
The two-story annex will feature “41,000 square feet of multi-purpose space and 24,000 square feet of additional pre-function space on the first floor. The second floor will house an elegant ballroom offering 41,000 square feet of divisible event space, with 14,000 square feet of pre-function foyer space. ”
The new structure will feature an open atrium with floor to ceiling windows and a winding staircase. The “property’s original Michael Graves design inspiration will carry through the new space with a modern flair, featuring water themes alongside warm, wooden touches. ”
The meeting space expansion will begin construction in November, and it is expected to be completed by late summer 2026.
Additionally, the 333,000 square feet of meeting space at the Swan and Dolphin will be receiving a refresh. The space will be enhanced with a modern look and new event technology. The refreshing of the event spaces at the Swan and Dolphin are expected to be completed by summer 2025.
As well, the hotel will be remodeling all of the guest rooms at the Swan with a modern look. It is expected that the remodeling will be completed by 2024.
