Um, Can We Talk About the TRIPPY Mushroom Scene in Disney’s NEW Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ride?!

It’s finally happening — we’ve got a FULL ride through of Magic Kingdom’s NEW Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride. There are some really beautiful scenes that bring us through a new chapter in Tiana’s story, but one in particular stood out to us in a…funky way.

Disney just released a full ride-through of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and we need to talk about all of the new scenery and lively music. However, there’s one scene we’ve GOT to discuss a bit more in-depth!

WARNING: MAJOR TIANA’S BAYOU ADVENTURE SPOILERS AHEAD

Disney is known to use forced perspective in its architecture and design when creating iconic park buildings and attractions. While it’s a very neat trick to help you feel like things are larger or smaller than they actually are, you’re in for a surprise. On Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, WE are part of the illusion!

While we (impatiently) wait to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure for ourselves, we can’t help but analyze Disney World’s entire ride-through. There’s no denying that this is going to be a popular ride with some stunning imagery, but one scene in particular really threw us for a loop (and made us even more eager to experience it in person)!

As you continue along the storyline in your log boat “going down the bayou”, you’ll encounter Tiana and Louis, who are searching for a missing ingredient for Tiana’s Mardi Gras party.

And when there’s a will there’s a way, especially when Mama Odie is around! So the pair set out to enlist her help in tracking down what they need. But in true Mama Odie fashion, what you need might not exactly fit the bill of how you expect to find it, so she does something pretty surprising!

We’ll find ourselves shrunk down in size (kind of Alice In Wonderland-style) to search for the missing ingredient. Along the way, we’re introduced to incredible lighting, with tall mushrooms and leaves surrounding us…

…ginormous bullfrogs…

…all to finally discover our missing ingredient — musicians!

That’s right! Tiana and Louis are in need of a swinging jazz band to round out her Mardi Gras celebration at her stately mansion, and the critters we encounter while we’re small are exactly what they’re missing (albeit it was a trip to get this size)!

This was quite the inventive switcheroo in this section of the ride, making us feel like we’re really helping Tiana and Louis. It (literally) gave us an interesting perspective as we had to dig a little deeper, think big, and get tiny.
